And (this is the dumb question), it is a movie correct? I only ask because it's Netflix, and I wasn't sure if they'd try to make it a limited series or something.

This is a direct sequel to the original (like Halloween 2018) and it is a feature length film.

Netflix is making big budget movies now and have really ramped up their studio big time.

I figured it probably was a movie, but it wouldn't have surprised me to see Netflix try to tell their story over a 6-episode stretch either.

Sadly, knowing Netflix, they'd post it all at once instead of once a week. I'm all for binge-watching, but it's not a successful way of keeping the conversation about a show like that going if so.

Is the original available on Netflix?

The 2003 remake (which I really enjoyed) is on there as well as Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (a prequel from 2006).

The original is on Hulu if you have the Showtime add-on.

I own the 2003 version, and recently saw it alongside The Beginning again last year or so.

I have to see if I even own Showtime, but I don't have such an add-on with Hulu even if I do, haha. If they're saying it's a follow-up to the original though, that's the one I was going to try and check out.

If you have Amazon Prime, the 40th Anniversary edition of the original is available to watch for free (with ads). Apparently the 40th Anniversary edition is 4K with surround sound.

I watched the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre and if you enjoy other slasher movies, you'll enjoy this one.

Some really nice gory kills, a typical slasher ending.

                  OS Official Horror Movie Thread

I am a huge fan of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the comedy of Part 2 has become a cult classic in it’s own right.

I loathed part 3 and all the sequels that have followed.

                  The reboot was…..ok.

This new one is 87 minutes of my life I will never get back.

I am a horror maven….I mean I started this thread because of my love for great horror. And I also love ridiculous shlock when….it’s charming shlock.

This film was crap. No two ways about it. Some great kills….yes but nothing, I mean absolutely nothing else to offer in the way of horror, suspense, characters nada.

The sequels to the original have simply in my mind save for Part 2 (and that is being generous) fallen completely flat.

The original film to this day is the only one that still disturbs me. It was a low budget masterpiece that still makes me want to take a shower after seeing it.

                    Halloween Ends has wrapped.

JLC posted on her instagram thanking the fans for their years of support for her and Laurie Strode. Said this will be the end for her in the series. What a run, and so glad she decided to play Laurie one last time. Horror legend.

As far as the movie, I think the only thing known now is that it takes place four years after the last two movies. So that should be interesting to see what Michael has been up to. Hard to get a job out there with so many missing fingers.

Well between Halloween 4 and 5 he apparently spent a whole year just napping in a tent by the river, lol.

It's gonna be bittersweet. I'm excited to see how it all ends. But then I know I will want more. Because Jason Voorhees isn't walkin' through that door, and Freddy lost his head over it.

I recently made my bedroom into a sorta makeshift "man cave", I kinda hate that word lol. And I've been watching a lot of Friday and Halloween movies. I'm basically putting at least one in mactuallyy Blu-Ray player every night, sometimes just as background as I do other stuff.

I only have that 8 move collection blu-ray set of F13 and I wanted 9, X, F vs J on blu-ray and those are super rare. I think 9 only comes in blu-ray in Europe so, I said screw it and bought this....

This has 4K scans of the negatives. A lost scene from part 2, some deletes scenes and alternate ending. Unrated cuts. I can't wait to dig into this.

As a self-proclaimed Jason nerd, I bought that set upon release. Aside from watching the new extras on the discs, I haven't watched them.

There were issues upon release, in case you are unaware. Some discs had missing audio and/or video but the manufacturer replaced them at no cost. You filled out some info on their website and they shipped out the replacement discs.

Did you buy the set from the manufacturer or from a third party? I ask because you need to be aware. Hopefully, you'll be able to get replacements if you have any bad discs. I would imagine you would only run a risk if you bought it from a third party.
