    Re: RIP Alex Trebek

The thing about Ken hosting is that this likely happened a few weeks I believe after Alex passed away, so this was especially fresh in everyone's minds.

So far as far as guests hosts go:

        - Ken Jennings worked, but I think the voice matters too and I'm not as much of a fan. He'll be busy with his other shows to do it anyway, but he would give that all up to host if offered I'm sure. Great sign-off with "Thank you, Alex."

        - The executive producer (Mike Richards) was okay, but he has another job to do and I don't know the personality enough to care, maybe. I mean he was great at it and obviously knows it well, but again it may be his lack of status that is getting in the way for me.

        - Katie Couric was dreadful. She was slow with her in-betweens, and was way too much sunshine and rainbows. Though to be fair, I think it was more with because she was just blessed to be on, and is not intending to host anyway.

        - Dr. Oz was great and punctual, though did not flare up levity with the contestants too much when he could have. He also has to ditch "Exactly!" as a way of saying a response is correct.

I have yet to see Aaron Rodgers, but I'm really hoping he does his TD dance move when a contestant gets a Daily Double (or a "Discount Double-Check" Daily Double, haha).

I definitely don't want Joe Buck to be permanent host.

Anderson Cooper doing it next week and the following week.

Katie Couric was the worst thus far. Don't like her, very condescending.

Loved her on the Big Bang Theory but Mayim Bialik on Jeopardy is not for me. So way over the top with her enthusiasm.

              Next week is Savannah Guthrie.

From what I read her Jeopardy experience was a thrill of a lifetime and she wants the permanent job real bad.

I'd rather just a Blossom reboot.

Lol......I liked her. Jennings is still top dog. Rodgers was better than expected.

Mayim Bialik is doing better than expected. I like her enthusiasm and giving the complete correct response after each question. Rodgers and Bill whitaker were the worst!

I thought she was fine. I just saw what I assume was her first episode-the one where the Maya Rudolph lookalike won with betting it all on

So it sounds like Executive Producer of the show, Mike Richards is in negotiations as the final host. I enjoyed Jennings, Burton, Bialik as my favs.

Disappointed by Burton, thought he would be much better. David Faber has become one of my favs with Jennings and Bialik.

yeah, I really like Burton and when his name first came up I initially thought he'd be perfect. but the truth is, I found out for me personally, Trebek is irreplaceable. I'll still watch, and enjoy to some degree, but frankly none of the replacements did it for me. at this point I wish Will Ferrell had wanted, and received, the permanent gig.

I haven't watched so I don't know if the best person got the gig, but to me it sounds like the old "Post the job publicly, interview a diverse group of people, but ultimately you end up hiring someone already working for you for that job" that we see in so many companies.
