Originally posted by Dark_Lord_VaderThe CUT-SCENE of #32 for the Miami Heat where he is dunking the ball in slow-motion was very impressive. The way his jersey moved and wrinkled was amazing. However, this was just a CUT-SCENE: ALL games on the current Xbox that have cut-scenes look real good. The actual gameplay footage was not that wonderful to me. I will say that the in-game footage of the floor was real nice! You can't buy reflections like that!Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Originally posted by FootballForeverdude your pretty crazy if you think the games look like the game we have now, and that vid is old news. The 360 is pushing some serious hardware. You must have not seen all the screens out already, or the vids.Comment

I agree. In fact, if you look at that trailer, everything before the Shaq "cut-scene" looks, to me, just like the current NBA 2K5, except for those solitary shots of the floor. The Lebron clip you haven't seen is just him on a street court alone doing the same slow-motion dunk that is represented in this clip by Shaq, with the same jersey movements.
You know when I'll be TRUELY impressed? When a console can mimic the Steve Nash "Hair Effect", with it getting progressively sweaty and everything. From the brief appearance he makes in this clip, they still can't do it.I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!
Oversimplification is the escape of men who want to avoid the duty demanded by true understanding.Comment

Re: XBOX 360: Initially UNDER-whelmed
I finally saw the LeBron clip. IF that is game play, then I am wrong and this new Xbox is going to be a real treat for future football gaming. My fear is that it is still just cut scenes only.Comment

Re: XBOX 360: Initially UNDER-whelmed
There are a few things to remember:
1) Sony gives its development kits away earlier, meaning that the stuff they are presenting has likely been getting worked on for longer than the Xbox stuff
2) Not all developers are going to be able to draw out the full power of a new console in their first generation games. Some of the XBox 360 stuff has left me a little underwhelmed as well, but when you see the stuff from the heavy hitters- Bungie, Ubisoft, EA- those games are going to look great. If you haven't seen it yet, go have a look at the Ghost Recon 3 clip. It's very short, but it's all gameplay and it's very, very impressive, both in terms of the detail in the environment and in the fluidity with which the soldiers move.
Personally I'm itching to see some gameplay footage from Madden, but my understanding is that EA won't be showing it.Comment
