dang. why even compare ps3 and box360 graphics right now. arent they using dev. kits which are at 40% of its capacity?

People like to argue for the sake of arguing.

I buy whatever system has great online and grand theft auto.

past 3 years, its been ps2 and xbox. looks like it wont be changing.

Within the context of this thread's subject matter, telling someone they pulled their comments from Microsoft's printer is a personal attack, so try not to sound so put upon. (And not only can I write long paragraphs and throw in the occassional big word, I can differentiate between "you're" and "your." You see, in your sentence, "you're" is a contraction of "you are," so do Lynchburg College and the English language a favor and throw in an apostrophe where it's warranted.)

ATI's R520 chip for the 360.

The R520 "Fudo" is a PC only GPU. The GPU for the Xbox 360 is the R500 "Xenos".

great, so we go from comparing systems and how I'm manipulated by consumer media to my grammar in an internet message board post, glad you're keeping the debate on track. And by the way my teachers here agree with you... So your attempt to humiliate Lynchburg College and myself is unfortunately not gonna push my buttons as you had hoped. So I say unless you can explain how I've been manipulated I think it would be best if the mods lock this thread. If you want to try and embarrass me further, bring it to pm... no one else needs to see your rants on my shortcomings.

Seems like you set yourself up for that one. Your attack to him first warranted his response which seemed to be a lot of truth. Society does feel that true happniess is in upgrades. Look at music, clothes, plastic surgery, movies, houses, jobs, and everything else. Even marriages if you look at them hard enough. Honestly, I was sold by his statements because I think slightly the same way. PS2 let me down because what I thought I was going to see in PS2 wasn't even ready until the PS3. What am I suppose to think when they took my beloved Dreamcast off the market with a less than stellar PS2? The games on Dreamcast are one of a kind.

I'm not sour. I'm really looking forward to seeing what both companies bring to the table. I honestly don't see the PS3 catching me cause they don't have the online strength. Secondly, their attacks against Microsoft certainly is out of marketing intelligence beause I've read the specs on the 360 on some tech site and Microsoft has clearly planned this one out better than expected. Sony can't come halfing it this time and I think they might have fallen short. Honestly, I'm sold on Microsoft cause they genuinely are pushing for the consumer's entertainment instead of being the best out this year. They've brought games to the table that have increased the imagination and quality of gameplay on all consoles in my opinion. Hey, I'm so ready for E3 to be over so at least a bunch of this garbage fanboy confessions dies down a little.

By the way, Killzone looks nice but doesn't look like First Person in my opinion unless the player was truly skilled. Loved Ghost Recon cause it just gives you the realistic feel. Might have even a chance of getting my father to consider buying it. Oh my goodness if my father is convinced it's worth it. Ghost Recon > Killzone....

My bad, thanks. I always get them mixed up lately.

I can't get that R520 out of my head. I heard that ATI was running the R520 on an Intel PCle system behind closed doors at E3. They were running it on that 'Alan Wake' game. Maybe it will be launched at Computex later this year?

This thread will do nothing but get people a break from the boards. We all know that there are those who can't play nice when it comes to talking about consoles. I just don't understand why or how someone could pledge allegiance to any console when no one has seen either one in action going at full tilt. Too many feel the need to justify how and where their money is spent.

People also don't understand it's a matter of personal preference. As NYJets said, he prefers XBox because of online play, sports games and FPS. I, on the other hand, prefer PS2 becaise I don't play online, play FPS on my PC and like games like God of War, GTA, MGS, etc. Trying to declare one console better than the other is silly because that console might not be the best for everybody's individual preferences.

I think Xbox 360's more popular here right now because it releases first and we're one impatient group of mofos. I think that if PS3 came out first then that'd be the most popular, we just want a new gaming system and we want it yesterday.

I can't help but noticing alot of things as I read through the threads. Yes, I have been here long enough to know that the majority of OS owns XBOX but with these totally NEW generation consoles coming out, I sense fanboyism.

I am not trying to be rude. But why do people hate the PS3 controller so damn much? It seems like after one person said it looks ugly, everyone looked at it and said "Hey, yeah it does look weird!". They haven't felt the controller or anything. And when you look at it, it ain't nothing different. Just the handles are longer.

I also hear people say that the videos you saw on E3 of Killzone were not actually in-game play. They say they were movies (I'm sorry please forgive me for I don't know the exact abbreviation for a movie you see in a game -_-). Now to me it looks pretty damn clear that they show it in first person mode, and usually when something is in first person mode, then it ain't a movie.

Hmmm... I remember back before we saw all these movies, people said they would hate it if it the new consoles weren't backwards compatible. Now we see XBOX360 won't be BC and now everyone says "oh well, hook up your old console"

It seems people have MADE their decisions ALREADY. XBOX360 doesn't come out til around November (If it isn't delayed), and PS3 doesn't come out til next Spring.

I'm sorry for posting this rant. I'm not a fanboy of any system. I have both PS2 and XBox (got the XBox for Christmas), and I love them both. I like XBox's graphics, I like PS2's exclusives. There is no telling which system I will pick.

Let me stop now. I love this board (it convinced me to get a Xbox), but can we be unbias?


P.S. I'm sorry, I know I won't get any positive posts in this thread but I just want to have legit arguments on subjects like this. Maybe this post will affect somebody out there *shrugs*.

Dude are you kidding me, your getting upset at the forum cause more people are leaning tworads 360, thats pretty lame if you ask me. Plus I am PS2 owner nly right now, and I wan't the 360 over the PS3, it seems your complaing that more people like the 360 more then the PS3, well nothing wrong with that at all. I'm sorry dude I just had to laugh at this post. As for BC I could careless, I'm buying the Nextgen system to Play Nextgen games, not old games.
