go back to Brad and he will give you some more. THis game is fun, but I feel like it doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a linear game with missions and and beginning, middle and end or is it an open ended game like GTA.

The difference between this and GTA is that you have a certain amount of time to get the missions done in and there isn't a lot of help about which ones are most logical. That and when you die you have to start at the last save point (which might have been a while ago) without you PP's carrying over or you have to start the game over with them carrying over. PP's are important because you level up with them.

So far I have rescued a couple and the lady whose boyfriend/husband dies when the maniacs in the car drive by. I tried to rescue the lady with the dead child but she got eaten. I also passed the picture taking level with that one queer and finished the main chapter(?) 1 storyline. Then I died because i couldn't get passed the 3 maniacs in the car with the gun and bat (anyone know how to get passed these guys?) I had gotten through 10 hours in game time.

Here are some things that bother me:
    1. save system
    2. no checkpoints, when you die you die (although you can prevent dying pretty easily if you plan ahead...always carry an extra orange juice)
    3. I don't have an HDTV and the print on screen from any dialogue not in a cut scene is SOOOOOO SMALL I usually can't read it.
    4. Load times and tons of cuts scenes (which are pretty nice, except they add load times).
    5. The rescue missions are pretty lame because the people whine, are stupid and slow.
    6. Camera and gun aiming...instead of putting the crosshairs where you were looking, it default back to eye level and straight ahead.

Sorry this post is disorganized and rambling, but I have a headache ache

Thanks for the info guys, i'm with Sully i'm having some major aiming issues as well. Good thing I only rented this game.

Asuhelms brings out some points I also agree with.

I inverted the controls and I still don't like the aiming. It's been said before but the in game save system BITESSSSS...arrrrrgh. I killed Corlito I missed my save point and 25 minutes of aimlessly trying to find another save point I die.

This game is starting to give me a headache.

The save points are a definite negative, although it's simliar to how the old RE games were...at least in regards to only being able to save in certain areas, so I am use to is somewhat.

This game is a dud. The aiming is the worst I have ever seen in a game. The save system is worthless. Escorting hostages is a major pain in the butt. Trying to kill the prisoners on the jeep is next to impossible due to the horrible aiming. Capcom dropped the ball on this one.

                I disagree.

The save system sucks, but I am having a blast with this game. I don't regret the purchase at all.

Use the Uzi and the katana to take down the prisioners. Kill the gunner with the Uzi then, wait for the car to crash into a tree and hack away with the katana.

I Used the larged machine gun off the back of the prisioners car to take down Carlito the second time.

This game sounds like a controller breaker. I like some of the ideas, the execution seems off though. Since its the summer and nothing else is out, I bet it sells well so a sequel would seem likely. Hopefully Capcom will fix many of the issues the second time around.

I was able to put in about 3 hours tonight into Dead Rising. I am amazed and disappointed in the same sentence with this game. Is it worth the $60, I would say yes it is and if you love zombies + Dawn of the Dead than you'll enjoy the game.

                            Pros:

-Story introduction is awesome and liked that I was able to take pictures of the zombies causing chaos in the streets.

-Cutscenes look like some of the best on the 360. Voice over work isn't too bad and has come a long way since Resident Evil.

-Complete homage to the Dawn of the Dead mall with the security rooms + boiler room.

-Graphics look a bit cleaner than the demo.

-No framerate or slowdown with 100's of zombies on the screen at once.

                            -Loading only 3-6 seconds long.

-Sheer amount of weapons and the use of the environment is just amazing.

-Best zombies that I have seen in a videogame from movement and detail. I think that Resident Evil Remake zombies would rival the ones in this game.

-I also like how certain areas have only a few zombies in them, but when you return that same area is littered.

                            Cons:

-You can only have one save slot. If you own a mem card + the HDD, you can have 2 save slots by saving on both.

-Another off the wall Capcom story. I fear that this could go down the path of an "Umbrella" type storyline. When I'm fighting a chainsaw wielding clown named Adam, it makes me wonder if this is a zombie related game or "Capcom" being "Capcom".

-Too much backtracking. This would have been ok if you weren't confined to having to meet timelimits for the storymode.

-No checkpoints for boss battles. Why do we need boss battles?

-Aiming controls. At first I was wondering why people here at OS were upset about the aiming, and now I feel their pain. Aiming with a gun should allow you to move around. You can move around when using the camera, why not with a gun?

-No in-game dialogue, just text. This is 2006 on a next gen console.

-I can't find a list of any objectives that were told to you via the text. Sometimes it can cause you to get lost.

-Side missions are a pain I think in your first run through of the game + trying to achieve the cases.

                            Misc:

-Brad reminds me too much of Ving Rhames from Dawn remake.

If Capcom is to make a sequel, which we know they most likely will, I think that they really need to build a free roaming world first to make this formula work. Then build the objectives and side missions around the free roaming world. I just think they have a really good idea here with DR, it's just the implementation went the way of a few different directions which doesn't allow the end user to get a joyful experience.

I think many have different expectations of this game especially if they never played the demo or read any of the online articles as to how this game plays out. To the average joe, this game looks like "GTA" in an infested mall of zombies if they didn't do any research on the game before purchasing.

Do we really need goofy boss battles? I would have liked a mode in the game to where you have to clear the mall of the zombies like DOTD, that would have been cool.

All in all, I have enjoyed the game for what it is and plan on unlocking the other 2 modes + play through it again once I beat it.

Let's hope Capcom listens to everyones feedback and they make DR2 even better.

Misfit, you make a good point here man. I can see people breaking controllers over this game.

I was talking with DXZeke (over the headset) last night while playing this, I felt bad due to all of the swear words I was using while playing this game that I was getting pissed off at Adam the chainsaw wielding clown.

I could not have said it any better. After my first encounter with Carlito and the aiming issues I followed Brad, forgot about my save point. Watched the cutscene with the old guy. Brad takes off, i'm left wandering the Mall, time limit is up and my frustration level started to kick in. So I had to start over cause I died trying to get to HQ.

Oh well it's only a rental. So far the most fun i've had with the game was using the Lawn Mower on the pack of Zombies in front of the Mall entrance.
