To make it even more authentic. I don't care about it that much but I was just wondering.

I think it would hinder their creative abilities a little bit. They model the cities after LA, San Fran and Las Vegas, but they have room to alter areas and make the cities better than their real-life counterparts.

What happens when you are done with the game story? Is there a free play mode or does the game just end?

yeah its all free roming after the story is over, you can just mess around with the mini gameplay modes or just do whatever the hell you want.

yep... doing the side graffitti/photo taking of landmarks, ambulance/firefighter/taxi missions, and finding the CLAMs and HORSESHOES.... is about 20 hours ALONE gameplay EXTRAs.

plus just messing around is HELLLLLLLLLLLLA fun

lol i think its legal issues... then again, did that streets of LA game used the name Los Angeles?

I always thought it was legal issues where a city doesnt want to be involved with a violent video game like that... bad for business. It may be either that or just money issues... having to pay to use the name Las Vegas in a video game.... same with the casinos...

It's probably that.. which also brings up the interesting point that they used colors like green, purple, and yellow for the main gangs as opposed to red and blue (bloods and crips in real life).. This game really pushes the envelope and using things that are that true-to-life would upset a lot of people. I know I'd be a little worried if one of the missions involved blowing up my house.. lol

I heard they had to take a mission out of the game that had similarities to 9/11.

Anyway, I dunno if it's legal issues, it's a city name. But I think they just did it to make it feel like it's own little setting. You notice how each game mentions the other in some shape or form. (A "see you in vice city" billboard in GTA3, a mention of a San Andreas football team on a radio station in Vice City)

I haven't caught the clue to the next city in the next GTA game, probably somewhere deep inside the game.

Having fake names for the cities was done by choice.
The game is actually better and more intriguing then having the real names in there having an authentic looking city polygon per polygon would suck and be too commercialized look what happened to the Getaway. Its on the player to look at the cities and say "YEP that is San Francisco" or "yep thats East LA I was there." It really makes the game more suprising and humorous with fake names. LAPD or SFPD is just a big turnoff especially to guys who been to jail and prison before and did time, which is a big percentage of people who are buying this game "Real Gangstas" this game is so real and authentic it made me cry as it is especially hearing the songs brought back memories of my mischiefious ways as a Youngster, I dont think any game has had an effect on me more then this game, especially on the Xbox since you can add your own tracks I made me a list of Songs from the era of the game (Late 80s early 90s) that anyone who is in their 30s that was a teenager and a G should throw on their xbox.

I like your post (was a teen in that era and yea gangbanged), I can relate being 35 in Nov. I went to high school with guys from (insert your neighborhood of choice here).

I just hope the next game is on a big enough scale to warrant something like having all 5 boros from NYC.

I know they did LC, but it was nowhere near as close to Miami or Cali as the other 2 games are.

But to have something as massive as the NYC metro area would be nuts.

hey guys, remember the girl that shot the main character in the face in the beggining of GTA 3??? well.....i think it was none other than catalina, the girl who has a fling with CJ before leaving him for the GTA guy as they head to liberty city!!!! If thats the case, that would be awesome. See what rockstars trying to do with creating characters that cross over into other games.

Any map bigger than SA would be too big, IMO.

As for the flying school, I actually liked it, got silver easily on all lessons. The stunt-plane is the **** too; don't really like the Hunter.

Anybody gotten the gimp suit yet? That is some funny ****.
