Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
Originally posted by ASB37I cancelled my pre-order too. The stupid guy at gamestop tried to convince me not to because "The Price won't go down for 2-3 years." I'm really starting to hate gamestop employees. Not only are they not well informed but they are downright annoying and sometimes cocky. Anyway i think im gonna wait for the PS3 to come out or X-Box 360 to go down. I dunno its just not worth it to me anymore. Im going away to college soon and my priorities are straightening out. I'm starting to outgrow video games and im playing them less and less so for me it makes sense to wait. Anyway hopefully when the PS3 comes out the X-Box 360 will drop in price like some people think. If not and i have to wait 2 years then it looks like the PS2 will be my last video game system.
Are you kidding me?? The PINNACLE of your video gaming career is at college!!!
You haven't seen nothing yet, buddy, take it from me . ..Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!Comment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
GOOD NEWS........
Finally, MS has stated that, at least first party titles will priced in parity with current generation games. Meaning, that current major titles retail for $49.99, the same will be true for Xbox 360 games. Bargain titles sell for $29.99 or less, the same will be true for the Xbox 360 titles. Third party devs can set their own prices for their games, but as I said earlier, I think they would be foolish to charge more than what MS will charge for its own titles.
STR8 from talkxbox.com
Here's some more info for you guys... Maybe all is not that bad in the world of 360:
First up, a look at all the accessories and prices:
This next one is just basically some advertising, but it's still cool looking:
This next one is just basically an overview of the system and it's features and a chart of what's included with which package:
This is another overview of the total experience of the X360:
This sheet talks about what comes with the Xbox 360 Core System and all that good stuff:
Finally, the last one is the sheet with the Xbox 360 System package on it:
More tidbits you might like to know:
There is no word on an official launch date, but we were told to look at history and try to figure it out for ourselves. I personally think that MS likes to launch everything major for the Xbox on November 9th or 15th, so that's the dates I'm looking at. There is also no official word on the number of consoles that will be available at launch. Basically they're going to put as many on the market as they possibly can.
Backwards Compatibility: The easy answer to this is yes, it will be. Out of the box at launch, not every single title, but most of the ones that most people will want to play. People with more esoteric tastes may have to wait a little while longer, but they will get to your favorite game eventually.
The bonus remote control included in the Xbox 360 package will be for a limited time only and will only control the Xbox 360 itself, unlike the separately available universal remote accessory. This bonus remote will not be backlit, nor will it have a number pad. It will however enable your Media Center extender capabilities, so if you have an MCE PC, you're good to go.
I'm not sure if any of the sheets I posted as pics mentions this, but, the Xbox 360 bundle will have a really cool silver trim that's NOT on the Xbox 360 Core system console.
As far as Xbox Live is concerned, everyone will have the Silver level, which is pretty much everything but being able to play games online. Those of you who subscribe to Xbox Live now, your accounts will automatically convert to Gold subscriptions. You will also be able to play your live account on either your Xbox v1 or your Xbox 360, BUT, not both at the same time (unless you purchase two accounts).
The HDD is no longer as necessary as it once was for the Xbox v1 console. The sheer power of the Xbox 360 means that it does not need all the storage that the HDD enabled for the v1 console. It will still be useful for storing media and custom soundtracks, and I do believe that some games will require it, but you can always add it on if you only buy the Core system. Also, you can take your detachable HDD to a friend's Xbox 360 and attach it to their system and use your saved info (which I think is really cool).
Also, some of you may not be aware, the but interactive kiosks in the store will have functionality that allows you to bring your memory card and download content from the kiosk and take it back to your Xbox 360.
MS will own the exclusive rights to the wireless controller until December 2007, no third party wireless controllers will be available until then, only wired controllers.
ENJOY

I have no idea. I guess the are expecting the PS3 to be cheaper which is doubtful. Plus it looks like late 2006 or even 2007 for it.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

to play with the wireless controller (not have to keep putting new AA batteries in every 6 hours)....
you must buy the rechargable battery pack ($11.99)
and you must buy the plug and play recharger($19.99)....
thats $33 worth of more stuff.......
this is really gonna start hurting the wallet
a second controller would be 49.99, + $12 more for it to have a rechargable battery....
thats $100 to have two player actionComment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
I know I'm going to get a better deal down the road, with better games that warrant the purchase. I also will know in full detail how worthy the xbox360 is and will not get the first "test" machines out on the market.Comment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
This whole thing with wireless controllers standard for both 360 and PS3 is bothering me about next gen. I've never needed it before. Don't need it now. And the thought of micro managing charging the batteries, buying new ones, extra money... grrrrrr! I really wish they made that an option.
As for either system, I'm going to wait until I see at least 5 titles that interest me before I shell out anything. The PS2 still has some good titles coming up so I'm in no hurry.Comment
