It was actually only a PC game. They ported it to the Dreamcast, which never came out, and that version eventually came out for the PS2. All I ever heard was it was a very poor and sloppy port, never played it on PS2 though.

Re: Half-life 2 for Xbox
Figured I would bump this thread up with the game coming out this week. Just found the review on ign.com. Sucks its not online, but I'm still very interested in this game. I heard nothing but rave reviews about the PC version and according to the review, it is exactly the same game content-wise. Plus since its BWC on the 360, it'll be running in 720p!
"There are very few times in life when one is able to sit down with a videogame and, over the course of 16 hours, feel waves of wonder, delight, and pure unfettered joy. Valve's Half-Life 2 on PC, and now on Xbox, is such a game."
it got a 9.4 btwLast edited by RockyTop1; 11-14-2005, 12:16 AM.PS4: aBayBates

Re: Half-life 2 for Xbox
I'm glad they kept it true to the PC version and the best thing seems to be the level design which I think is the most important aspect of a FPS for single player mode. I always thought Halo was overrated because of it's repetitive levels.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Half-life 2 for Xbox
I have a feeling we'll see a fully worked on 360 version of Half Life 2.
They have recently released the Lost Coast level for PC (not in the Xbox 1 version) and then delayed the Aftermath expansion.
I can see Half Life 2 360 including Lost Coast and Aftermath all with beast graphics and full online multiplayer. Afterall, they did release Half Life 1 on Dreamcast, PS2 and about 10 million different packages, game of the year editions and side stories for PCComment

Re: Half-life 2 for Xbox
Actually, the reviews have said the Xbox version doesn't have visible jaggies anyway, so it wouldn't look much different on 360 through backwards compatibility/emulation. Plus the textures are not as good as the PC version.
So the high end PC version still rules for now.Comment
