Originally posted by pk500SoE was the most overhyped, disappointing game of this console generation. It had the misfortune of being the next Rockstar game after Grand Theft Auto III revolutionized gaming, and SoE was a giant, putrid turd of a game, any way you sliced it.

Re: The Warriors Ships Today!!!
I just picked up the warriors and shadow of the colossus, I'll get some time in and some impressions later tonight.
Just a quick impression: It starts off exactly like the movie - music is the same, the shot of the wonder wheel, the talk about Cyrus, the shots of various gangs, the quick dialogues between Warrior gang members. If you are a fan of the movie, it looks like Rockstar did a good job recreating it.Last edited by mudtiger; 10-19-2005, 01:28 PM.Comment

Re: The Warriors Ships Today!!!
After the tutorial and getting to the "tag" mission, it seems like it will be a fun game. My only complaint so far is that I needed more time to beat up the bums to get a handle on the controls and what buttons do what.
Gotta run, I'll post some more tonight.Comment

Re: The Warriors Ships Today!!!
I spent about 7+ Hours playing it yeaterday (loser!!) and I am really liking the game.
I'm only 20 something percent into it (according to the stats screen) but I am really liking it. The graphics are pretty good, ther animations seem smooth and it is simply fun to play. I think people who aren't even fans of the movie will like it.
It reminds me of the non vehicle missions in GTA with better graphics and atmosphere. The control scheme is easy enough to pick up, and you can become proficient fairly quickly.
I am not one that plays many fighting games (tekken, street fighter etc.), so the maneuvers etc might not be as complex as some are used to, but they are intuitive and easy enough to use that you can start enjoying the game almost immediately.
There are several game modes, so if straight fighting w/ no mission goals is your thing, you can do that as well.
The majority of the game takes place in the months before the beginning of the movie, so you get to see how tha gang was formed etc via playable "flashback modes".
Bottom line; the game is really fun to play and I will undoubtedly play again even after I complete the missions.
The only negative (for some) might be the coarse languange. It's much worse than GTA, in fact it's as bad as I have ever heard in a game. It doesn't o ffend me, but I can see where those with senstive ears might.
If you like the movie, you will REALLY like the game, and if you have never seen it.....well I'm still betting you will like the game as well.Comment
