I have $500 burning a hole in my pocket, but I got a screaming deal on a Canon Digital Rebel and I want a good telephoto lens for it. Something keeps telling me to get it and hold off on the 360 for a while. I'm having trouble finding time to play my XBox as it is.

Because it's "what's next".
No system launch has really ever delivered great games out of the box. It always takes a while for developers to get full power of system into the games. With that said, IMO, the 360 launch is one of the , if not THE, best launch lineups ever.

I would have to disagree the ps2 had a great launch lineup(ssx offered up something new) and the dreamcast (imo) had the best launch ever.When I first saw and played nfl and nba2k my jaw hit the floor.I don't think I would get that feeling at all with the launch of the 360.No game at launch is anything we haven't seen already.Maybe gears of war will deliver with that wow factor.

The psone also had a great launch.

This is not a flame, so please don't take it as one. I'm just wondering why people are so psyched about the 360 when most of you are admitting that the games won't be that great at first. Are the graphics so important that you have to have one right out of the gate? I don't know. I'm just having a hard time justifying over $500 to myself for a system that, at the moment, is offering games (i.e. NBA 2K6 and TW 2006) that, aside from better graphics, are actually taking things away. I'm sure that developers will improve the games, but it's going to take a little while.

The 64 thousand dollar question for everyone is: What are you most excited about with the 360 (the thing that makes you want to stand in line or pay top dollar right away to get one)?

The only games that have taken anything out of their current versions are the ea sports games.

Dreamcast had 1 title I was interested in and that was NFL2K.
PS1: didn't even buy a PS1 until about a year after it was out.
PS2 was for Madden and another game I can't remember.( I just remember getting 2 at launch)
So the 360 has been the best launch FOR ME, hands down.

Oh, my bad. I thought I read that some stuff was removed from NBA2K6. Maybe I was thinking of Madden.

I will not be buying one, crazy thing called life is a little more of a priority. But I played it and my two cents is just that the controller is a thing of beauty, fits like a glove, very comfortable. I am more likely to get either this or PS3 in more like a year or two. But man, that controller is awesome.

I agree with that. I got to play it at Best Buy and the controller was definitely nice. The shoulder buttons were needed badly. The black and white buttons are the only thing I really dislike about the XBox.
