Poster, it's not too late at all. I sold mine on thrusday and got 140 dollars US. I sold the xbox, a headset, mem card, March Madness 06 and action replay.

There are thousands of original xboxes up for auction on ebay. At best, if you give it to a store, they give you 60 bucks for the console, and they really screw people over in terms of credit that you get for games.

One more question guys. If I do not hook this 360 up to a computer am I missing out on alot of features. I have never played online, and my computer is in another room away from my HDTV so I was just wondering. Thanks.

Well I sold (traded in)my xbox and 4 games I had left today at EB towards the 360. I was surprised when he told me I had got 160 in store credit for all of that. Pretty happy I only have 200 to go before i have it paid off which ill do next weekend.

Next sunday at EB they are going to open the store from 6-630 (they close at 6 on sundays) and allow everyone that wants to, to pay off their 360 and buy any games, controllers etc that they will need. The monday they are going to open the doors at midnight(well its actually tuesday then) and sell the 360.

I CANT WAIT! Each day im more and more anxious for this..plus I got the day off so gaming all night and all day..WOO HOO!!!

Called every TRU in the NY area and was able to find one in Queens that are still taking preorders for first day release. My GF is on her way there now.


Called the only Sams Club in my area and they said they were only getting in 10 units on launch and that 5 of them were going to be held over for non-members because they didn't think it was fair that they wouldn't have a crack at purchasing them.

I did the same thing in Jersey on Tuesday I found one in Elizabeth by Jersey Gardens

Paid off the rest of my 360 today. And put 33 down on a controller that I will get with my games on Wednesday or Thursday.

360 launch/camping out questions

OK... until today I thought I had my plan worked out..

I pre-ordered at GS back in July and it looks like a no-go for me at lunch there. So....


My plan initially was to camp out at Wal-Mart on the 21st from about 2pm-midnight and get one of the 12 or so copies they should get. Would a 10 hr campout, considering starting before school and work gets out work okay?

Another idea has come to mind today after reading the forums. How about Sams Club? My family and I have been meaning to get a membership there forever and this is the perfect oppurtunity.

Advantages-

Not everyone has a Sams memebership which limits people quickly

Most people probably don't even think of Sams club for getting 360/games

It's owned by Wal-Mart so im sure they will be getting at least a few units


Now questions for any Sams members here or anyone in the know..

My Sams club is not 24 hrs. Meaning I will need to get there in the morning early to get ready for open. I am intrigued by the "business" membership you guys are talking about. Can anyone sign up for this membership? My Dad owns a business and certainly could buy stuff there. However, if you get in the store a couple hours early.. is the gaming/electronics department even open?

I have also done some searches online and can't find any information about Wal-Mart or Sams Club offering anything but bundles. I don't want a bundle, I want just the premium system by itself. Can anyone confirm this is going to be possible to get just the system at these stores?

wxkid... I'd say you'll be safe if you're at WalMart from 2pm-midnight.

As far as Sam's Club, that's what I'm doing. Yes, if your dad owns a business, then you all can get a business membership. But remember, not all Sam's Club have the Gold Key hours, where business members are in the store at 7:00 AM, whereas general members don't get in until 10:00 AM. You'll just have to call and see.

As far as bundles, that's all Sam's will have. However, the bundle is not a big one like TRU/Gamestop type deal where you get games you don't want, but it's the Premium System, Extra Wireless Controller, Plug & Play Charge Kit for $449.96. Not a bad deal at all in my book.

I've about decided I am just going to go with Sam's Club. I'll have to wait a couple of extra hours, but I think that might be the thing to do. Hopefully there won't be a large group of people camped out there. As of right now, I'm not planning on getting there until about 6 AM.

Hope thats earily enough.

I would say go there overnight, 3 or 4ish and just park as close as you can and stay up and watch the lines. I would say do that for anyone who is going to Best Buy or wherever.

Get there as earily as you can and like someone else said, just set an aalarm to go off every 45 mins or so, when a line starts, hop out and just sit there.

I would take a sleeping bag and pillow and be the firs tat the door. Dont take any chances, a hour could mean getting one or not getting one.

TO me, WalMart is the best way to go about it. Get there earily in the day, at least your inside and a warm place.

I'd imagine that the Costco's, Sam's Club's, and BJ's won't generate too much of a line. I've made up my mind that I will go to Walmart around 8pm on the 21st. I was told to go to customer service, and they'll be handing out tickets. I'm hoping I can get the ticket at 8pm, and come back at midnight to pick it up. We'll see. If that doesn't work, I still have my TRU bundle, although it comes with 2 games I don't want.

Sully I would say go eariler. Well at least with the PS2 release.

It probbaly wont be as bad, but I got at Wal-Mart at 530 when PS2 released..I was #33 in line out of 36 systems.

I have a walmart and a best buy both very close to me. I am going to contact both stores and see what the deal is at both places then plan my strategy.

I might go to the midnight release at my EB, but I'll have to go to school the next day. I can ditch my last class (10 am to 12 pm) since I'm an aide and do nothing anyways. So, realistically I would be at school from 7 am to 10 am, then I could come home.

Sounds good to me.
