What does IIRC mean?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Interest in Revolution as a 2nd console
Originally posted by jpupThey will and soon. After 2006, a large portion of America will have HD. There just aren't enough channels and the sets are too high right now for most people, but that will change after next year, IMO. For the hardcore gamer, this will kill Nintendo's chances.
Whether they take off next year is a toss-up, but almost all bought won't be soley to make games look a bit better.Comment

Re: Interest in Revolution as a 2nd console
I'm still not believing that the majority of Americans will have a HDTV set within the next 2 or 3 years. Xbox was a niche system, and the Xbox 360 is continuing in that direction while trying to appeal to casual gamers at the same time. So, this "no HD" thing for Nintendo doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Originally posted by Admiral50I've really grown to like the idea of the Revolution too. Right now I am more positive on getting one than I am a PS3 or Xbox 360.
I was watching a video interview at IGN yesterday and they were talking EA's Chief Visual Officer and they said they will be developing for Revolution but did not give much detail. Maybe they will have EA Sports and maybe they won't.
IMO if Nintendo can keep the system price at $200 and have some mature games as well they will certainly compete and make money. The biggest hit on the Gamecube by many is the lack of mature games that cater to the older audience. If they can remedy this with Revolution this will be a big step in its success.Comment

Whether the Revolution (still not the final name btw) will be able to do justice to games like NBA2K, graphically is yet to be seen. But the options will be there.
And on jmood saying there's nothing that interests you... well that's probably because they have yet to show a single game
It's the idea, the originality and the potential for new gaming experiences that interests people here.
Other than Nintendo's big name games, I can see the first bunch being gimmicky much like the DS, but if they get it together it could change gaming in a huge way.Comment

Re: Interest in Revolution as a 2nd console
That's cool, don't buy it. Many won't.
Even when you 'waste' money on the standard controller (assuming this controller does happen), buy the console and games you'll still have more money left over than if you bought a 360 or PS3. Reports are it's going to be much cheaper than the 360.
I'd buy it just for the emulation of all N consoles alone.
Just for the new versions of Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc...
MGS creator, Hideo is working on a Revolution(ary) game too apparantly.
Plus, Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube is quite possibly the best console game of this generation (at least in the top few), so I am hoping a new version of that, utilizing the new controller is being worked on.
You'll get your gimmicky junk. Can anyone already see a rush job Star Wars title using the controller as a virtual lightsaber?
But for a console I have seen no game for, I am very hyped.
In fact, if someone said I could have a free 360 right now with all launch games if I gave up being able to get a Revolution in the future, I'd decline.Comment
