Re: 2nd shipment..is around
I know for a fact that the next shipment we get in at Circuit City, the employees will be purchasing most of them. They weren't allowed to on launch, and they're not allowed to use their discount either.Comment

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
I spoke with my local Best Buy employee here in Maryland and he seemed to be knowledgable of what the situation apparently is. He states that Microsoft notified their company and recalled the remaining 360's from launch as the hardware failure rate was too high. He states they have not received any shipments since launch day and they are suppose to receive 360's every three days. Last but certainly not least, he mentioned that it is unknown when the next wave will be as Microsoft has only told them it will be before Christmas.Comment

Originally posted by luv_mistSee, I'm so curious to know what the deal is for real. I hear recall, I hear "undercover" shipping coming soon, I hear manipulated shortage.....too much info flowing around and not enough news to support any of it. Sucks a bunch cause I'm definitely wondering.......
I bet there is a recall and Microsoft just doesn't want that to go public. The real question is, how is Microsoft able to fix the hardware failure problem in such a short time between shipments and a World Wide Launch?Comment

Originally posted by AtXjThere's no recall. Major Nelson said posted information backing the no recall in his blog and asked everyone to stop spreading the rumor that that was a possiblility, because it's not.
Didn't he also post that we would see Xbox 360 arriving in stores this past weekend? Like that happened!Comment

Microsoft is getting the systems out. It's then in the hands of each company to distribute them. I don't know of many companies, ala Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc., that distribute their product via one warehouse. There are plenty of warehouses that supply their stores. Therefore whether your local stores have any 360s falls into the hands of their select distribution center. Some centers may get some and some may not. Some may get a ton and some may get a few.
On top of all this, we have the medium of employees which have been reportedly taking them before they even hit the shelves.
They will be here, have some patience.
I still don't have one either, and I work at Target.

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
My theory on the 360.
There is no recall, that is correct. Microsoft has stopped shipping 360's because of the overheating issue and hiccups they have found. They know what the problem is and they fixed it and now they are producing "new" 360's. Look at the time frame. The next batch will hit next week, and that will be 3 weeks after the initial launch about 4-6 weeks since the original batch was produced. They are replacing and/or fixing any 360's that are having problems. If they had a full recall, it would be a disaster. I think they knew of the problem and launched anyway to avoid bad publicity. We will know, one day, in the near future. Mark my words. Something wacky happened and to avoid bad press and complete humiliation, Microsoft is using the excuse that they are selling out. Think about it, NO ONE, not anyone in the US can say they saw or bought a 360 after the launch day for about two weeks. Call all the stores you want, they have recieved ZERO, nada, zilch.Pretty starnge, huh. (Also, don't believe anyone who works for MICROSOFT. They won't tell the truth, well, because not everyone knows the truth. They are looking out for the best interest of the company, not your best interest. That's business).Last edited by Kissrox; 12-06-2005, 04:12 PM.Comment
