my 360 is on 10-12 hours a day (roomies are playing it when im not) i have not had one overheating issue. there is no reason for MS to do a full recall because there is not a problem in every 360. MS says that it is between 3 and 5%, which is expected with new electronics.

This is good to know. I was concerned cause I like to play my games for long durations at a time too.Originally posted by dagger55my 360 is on 10-12 hours a day (roomies are playing it when im not) i have not had one overheating issue. there is no reason for MS to do a full recall because there is not a problem in every 360. Re: 2nd shipment..is around
I thought I started the post out stating that is was MY THEOY, not the word of GOD.
Anyway, it makes me feel better that there is a conspiracy and not the fact that MS are a bunch of morons who couldn't make enough 360's because they decided to ship early.....!!! DAMN THEMComment

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
Would you expect MS to say anything different? They are like used car salesmen. They will tell you want you want to hear until you have PROOF that they are lying! I don't hate MS, I'm in business and I know what people will do. I work for the 5 largest employer in the world, the largest foodservice company in the world (And it's not fast food). I'm in Senior Management. I know what is said and what is done behind closed doors. Believe me, MS will not say anything bad about themselves. It would be corporate suicide if they did!Originally posted by dagger55my 360 is on 10-12 hours a day (roomies are playing it when im not) i have not had one overheating issue. there is no reason for MS to do a full recall because there is not a problem in every 360. Re: 2nd shipment..is around
it wasn't that they were morons, it was the fact that they originally were going to launch in Feb. 06. They decided to move that up 3 months, but couldn't start production 3 months earlier than originally planned. Combine that with the worldwide launch and you get your shortage.Originally posted by KissroxI thought I started the post out stating that is was MY THEOY, not the word of GOD.

i would say that i have only seen a handful of people with problems. hell i have 40 friends on my friends list that already have 360's, and they are always on... so no problems there either. i have no reason not to beleve MS, because im not seeing that many people with problemsLast edited by dagger55; 12-06-2005, 07:55 PM.Comment

I'm now getting tired of the hunt. I'm starting to get geared up for PS3 now rumors are flying concerning a March release.Originally posted by RulesAnymore sightings? Seems like this Xbox 360 launch isn't going well for many who are still looking to get a system for actual store price!Comment

if the ps3 releases in march in the US, that will be the best kept secret in video game historyOriginally posted by RulesI'm now getting tired of the hunt. I'm starting to get geared up for PS3 now rumors are flying concerning a March release.Comment

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
Even Gamestop and EBgames have PS3 games for sale with a suggested release date of March - May time frame. Not that it means anything but the PS3 is probably going to come sooner than originally expected in my opinion. Not to change the subject from xbox 360 to PS3 as I am frustrated and tired of hunting for it now.Originally posted by dagger55if the ps3 releases in march in the US, that will be the best kept secret in video game historyLast edited by Rules; 12-07-2005, 12:43 AM.Comment

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
You definitely aren't the only one. I'm sick of seeing house notes on the internet for these systems. I really hat ethe fact that I have the money but can't find a darn system cause of someone not coming through on their end "properly" which is kind of turning me the heck off so much. I honestly am getting more and more excited about the PS3 launch. Only thing keeping me more towards the XBOX 360 is that Hard Drive and thepower it possesses....as well as the marketplace and DLC. I mean, free downloads for games about to be released. I definitely can't see PS3 beating that. They can only hope to match it. So many freaking decisions. I think I might just wait until next year unless I find one for real.......Originally posted by RulesEven Gamestop and EBgames have PS3 games for sale with a suggested release date of March - May time frame. Originally posted by triplej96Talked to my eb manager today should be getting my system next week!
Perfect time tomorrow is my last day of school. The wait for the 360 will be worth it.
Glad to hear that for you triplej96.
I wish my local EB would get some information. In fact, That is my biggest gripe with this whole situation. The lack of information available to the consumer is what upsets me most. Even EB Corporate claims they have no information on when any shipments will be coming.
I sent this email to EB corporate:
I was given this backHello,
I am sending this email in reference to my pre-order of an XBOX 360. I
am sure you get many of these types of emails all day and am sorry to be
adding to that. However, I am deeply concerned with the lack of
information being handed out by your stores.
I pre-ordered the 360 from a EB Games store near my house. I was told
that I would recieve it on launch day. I was even treated to a message
on my ansering machine a week before hand to a message stating the XBOX
would be out in a week. Come launch day I call into my local store and
ask if I can come pick it up now. It was then that I was informed that
the number of units recieved where cut and they didn't have enough to
fill all the pre-orders. I was never called and told not to expect my
unit that day. However, I understand that sometimes these things happen.
However, I can't understand how come no info is available. I can find
and hear info from Microsoft on the internet and blogs (MajorNelson.com)
that shipments would be going out on a weekly basis. Yet your stores
claim no knowledge of when they are getting any.
It would go a LONG way for your stores relationships with customers if
this info was made available to the public.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing back.
David
I just wish they'd share some more info with the public, Both MS and EB.Hello David,
Thank you for contacting EBgames.com.
We apologize for the continued inconveniences. Unfortunately, we do not
have information on subsequent shipments at this time, instore or with
ebgames.com. We highly recommend staying in contact with your local
store for updates. As soon as we receive information we will advise our
customers appropriately.
It is our goal to have these systems for our customers as soon as
possible. The best way to do this is to remain in contact with the store
for updates.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to respond to this
email.
Sincerely,
Philippe

Re: 2nd shipment..is around
Update from my local Gamestop today: Gamestop as a company (don't know if that includes EBs) will be getting 3000 units on 2nd shipment. That is for it's 2000 nationwide stores. In other words, each store can hope to get between 1 and 2 units on second shipment. No dates yet set for when this shipment will come in.
Now, this is maybe the 400th piece of contradictory information I've heard since launch, so there's no more reason to believe this than anything else. But that's the most recent update. By the way, what this means is that my local Gamestop is now telling people who PRE-ORDERED not to expect their system until March. Forget Christmas.
As I mentioned, no reason to believe anyone at this point. The only thing I do believe is that Microsoft either made a big mistake somewhere, or they have their thumbs stuck where the sun don't shine. Marketing strategy or not, they are now definitely beginning to lose sales to people they'd already had in their pocket.
So where are all those people who, after launch, kept on saying how everyone's going to laugh at themselves after shelves were full with 360s a couple weeks later . . . haven't seen many of those posts in a while.
