if Halo 3 is anything like 1 or 2, it will be an over-rated, bland, extremely repetative game.

People seem to love this game, but it's one of the most tedious, repetative games I've ever played. The same few weapons used to kill the same few enemies over and over and over again in the same setting, etc, etc.

Halo 2 was a bit better with level repetition, but Halo 1 was the worst I'd ever seen. I remember going through about 30 identical corridors at one point and finally just shutting the stupid thing off.

The Halo series is maybe one of the most overrated I've witnessed.

I agree, its the reason why I never played it single player. Although the AI was pretty smart, the level design turned me off.

I'll do you one better. I'm probably the only one that bought the game and never even started the single player campaign.

I played the single player campaign for about 15 minutes and turned it off.

Same here. In part one, I got as far as the second mission. Part 2, I never started one. Dont know how the story goes or nothing. I keep reminding myself to get a co-op story mode going with my guy but never got around to it.

One thing that irked me about Halo 1 was all of the backtracking on the singleplayer maps. As soon as you got to the end of your objective at from point A to B, back to point A.

QUAKE, DOOM, and HALF LIFE will always be great FPS.

Negative. I played the first Halo for a few months and loved every minute, but Halo 2 did nothing for me. I played the single player campaign for an entire afternoon with my brother and finally just stopped because I was bored. Maybe I would have been more interested if I could have been Master Chief the entire game because played as the Covenant fellow did absolutely nothing for me. It's not like I don't like shooters eitherl; I've played Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Rainbow 6:3, Soldier of Fortune II, and Jedi Outcast to death and never really became bored with those. Halo 2 just did nothing for me... totally overhyped and for some reason accepted by too many despite so-so gameplay. Oh, and why the heck could Master Chief only carry three clips for his assault rifle? He's Master F***ing Chief. Doesn't he have any pockets on that suit of his?

Nope, after years of playing Count Strike and running through Half Life I didn't understand the huge fuss about the game. I was more excited for Rainbow Six 3.

The single player in Halo 2 was disappointing. The game really bogged down for me during the part where you play as the covenant guy. In fact, I still haven't finished the game because I couldn't plow my way through the covenant part.

That said, I think the online is great. I started playing it again right before 360 came out and had a great time. I don't think any game could live up to the hype that Halo 2 got, but the multiplayer alone made it a great game IMO.

I don't understand how Halo3 is going to stop anyone from buying a PS3. PS3 is going to have some great exclusives too.

What is there to expect in the next generation Halo?

I never thought that the Halo franchise was that great in the first place but I'm sure that there's people who love it enough to skip a system for it.

Its the same as if Nintendo was coming out with the Revolution and a new Mario game. I'm sure there would be plenty of ppl who will dismiss the comp for Mario alone. Sad but true.

This is what i've heard a couple times from electronic retailers, all rumors but it would be a good marketing idea. The next big launch of Xbox 360's will be limited as well, i've heard 400,000 american xbox's.. After that, they won't release anymore until the ps3 launches, and are going to launch it with Halo3 and other goodies and even cut the price for 360's. Now if they do that then i could see how that could hurt the ps3.

I say they dont limit the number of consoles released. It'll give ppl to much time to check out what Sony has to offer and it might sway their decision. It'll definitely be like that for me if I cant find an 360 for a month before spring.

MS already announced to investors that they projected they would sell 3 million 360 units in the first 3 months of launch (I think it was 3 months), so they're going to have to make at least that many available or they'll be facing some serious lawsuits.

I have'nt even touched the single player on Halo 1 or 2. I never knew what the big fuss was about ethier till I put this game online. So its easy to call it overrated unless you spent some hours online.

Same..I didnt even start a solo game on Halo 2 and I didnt even own the first Halo..but online, its the best time I have ever had on xbox, with rainbox six 3 black arrow second.
