I think i`m just going to say to hell with everyone and stick with the REVOLUTION and PC only next generation. The REV will have the best controller scheme of all 3 systems and I just upgraded my PC. So, i`m set for about the next 3 or 4 years.Comment

I'm a sports gamer so that is why I only own an Xbox. I do have a Gamecube but that is for the kiddies in my family.Comment

But exactly how is slandering someone else`s product supposed to garner more sales? Its seems kind of childish to me.
Either way... MS is in deep doo doo right now and when you see your defeat over the horizon you might in fact resort to namecalling and slander.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I know people that work for Sony - code for them first-party - and even they won't say that.
The PS3 will have more raw power, but not by nearly much as folks on this board tend to speculate. The Xbox 360's architecture coupled with the XNA middleware is more developer-friendly in comparison.
In other words, performance-wise, it's like comparing apples to apples.
They're both going to provide a fantastic experience, and their differences will be almost imperceptible.
As far as the mudslinging goes, Moore's a bush-leaguer compared to Kutaragi, however.
Microsoft has botched this launch in spectacular fashion, and it's an absolute embarrassment. I agree that they'd be much better off getting their own house in order rather then take unnecessary pot-shots right now.
What's amazing is that it should have been completely expected. The PS2 launch was the clumsiest, hardware-wise, in history - and even the 360's hasn't matched it yet - but it very well might.
The fact that Microsoft didn't plan appropriately is entirely inexcusable.
However, it remains to be seen if Sony can or will do any better - their track history is just as poor, and the PS3 contains even more proprietary technology (read: slow to produce). I'd anticipate something similar next year.Shawn Drotar

Re: Microsoft boss attacks sony's ps3
The PS3 SPEs have NO branch prediction at all and are very limited. This alone makes it impossible for the PS3 to be significantly more powerful than the XBOX 360. There is alot of misinformation out there. One great source for analyses on the next generation gaming consoles is www.arstechnica.comComment

Re: Microsoft boss attacks sony's ps3
I think a good way to compare the potential performance of the PS3 and XBOX 360 is to use the analogy comparing the performance of two teams assigned to cut grass. Assume team 1 consists of three men each with one lawn mower Vs a team 2 consisting of one man with a lawn mower and seven other people with scissors. Now one team has eight members and the other only three, but they are not equivalent because seven people cutting grass with scissors are not as efficient as two people cutting grass with lawn mowers. Obviously this is a bit extreme, but do not assume just because the PS3 is better at floating point performance it will even equal the XBOX 360 at general purpose code which is very important.Comment

On another note, why not take these senseless ribshots of company vs. company as the little jokes they are?Comment

It requires more than a passing understanding of techinology to find it useful, but it's a fantastic resource.Shawn Drotar
