Not entirely true. To vote multiple times, all someone had to do was clear the cookies on their PC. So someone could vote, clear cookies, vote again, clear cookies etc... It only takes a few seconds to do so as well.

With that said, if anyone has paid attention to the financial aspects of Take-Two and EA, both have had terrible 4th quarters - way below what was expected. Take-Two's first quarter earnings for 2006 have been downgraded as well.

I don't get where everyone is saying EA is simstyle hardcore gamers. I don't buy that one bit. Fact is this, I've been playing EA games since I was 6. Dr J vs Larry Bird for the commodore 64. I've grown up with EA titles. I will admit that I played the heck outta 2K when I had my dreamcast, but that was because the dreamcast didn't support any EA games. and honestly, that was the downfall of the console in my honest opinion. Bottom line is it's not that I'm a fan boy, or not hardcore as a gamer. It's a product that I'm fairly used to. I've played the new 2K stuff and I prefer the older 2K stuff. To each is own. I just don't understand why everyone says what they say. If I had the chance, I would make sports games that I prefer. But gotta finish up at school before that can happen.

How do you know? you musta done it yourself No?

Im sure they have a script that checks IPs after the fact which is why the results were not immediatly made avaliable.

First off it wasn't necessary for you to call me an ignorant follower. In the year 2005 I only bought 1 EA game. Every other sports title was the 2K line.

200,000 votes is a small sample size for videogame players/purchasers. Until people stop buying EA games in big numbers, EA has no reason to make any major changes.

Some people just can't get over the fact EA Sports destroys Take Two Sports in sales. The general public has voted with what counts the most, their wallet. And the company on top is EA.

Now arguing the "quality" of the games is another issue.

So... for everybody that says these were such terrific polls, obviously MLB 2K5 isn't that bad of a game. MVP got 55% of the vote, and 2K5 got 45%.

Actually I did try it once. Every internet poll I've ever seen (or coded for that matter) uses cookies or a username/password to verify the results. Just makes the most sense on something that isn't that important. Of course they could've run a script to pull out duplicate IP's, but it's really not worth it considering it's just a generic poll that a very small amount of people voted on. I didn't even bother mention using a proxy server to vote multiple times because not many know how to do so.

With that said, it's not that I disagree with the results, it's just that it's too easy to fudge these. I hope BOTH EA and Take-Two make the most impressive games around. I've got problems with both companies and some of the games they've produced.

MLB 2K5 is a horrible game! MVP is widely recognized as the greatest baseball game of all time, I know you love MLB 2K series, but I think your opinion is highly in the minority there.

First of all, I don't love the series. I just happened to play MLB 2K5 a lot more than MVP.

Secondly, I'm obviously not highly in the minority if 45% of people claimed MLB 2K5 the better game. That was the whole reason for my post.

Yeah because 2k is just perfect with their incredible game support and timely roster updates.

But they have weird fixes like if you turn pre-season and weekly prep off... and with the baseball game passed balls are fixed with the error slider set at 50 (and 50 only).

I Am Shocked.... ....even though there are so many ways around that poll like joeboo said. Honestly, kind of crazy cause I was expecting it to be more lopsided. I'm pretty sure that the football game that (supposedly) will be coming out from 2K camp will be met with a lot of open arms. I'm also wondering why the MLB game isn't given the same chance that Madden was when the deal was made??

My thoughts on this is should'nt they make games for the harcore and not the casual? The hardcore crowd is the ones who improve the series. EAs problem is that they never listened to the harcore group.

I'm super happy that 2K was the clear cut winner. Now maybe EA will take notice and switch things up for he better. But hey, this poll does'nt mean a thing as long as EA is the clear cut winner in the profits.
