Alright guys, here are my initial impressions:

... This game rocks... I know it's like preaching to choir, but the explosions are the best in any game to date. The graphics are amazing as you will see in a few..
@ the beginning you get a brief intro via cut-scene about the storyline. Some brief gameplay action & then back to some more cut-scenes. (Cut-Scenes are done very well) After those cut-scenes your off to your 1st Mission
The 1st mission is the same 1st Mission as the DEMO. The game plays smoothly. I did notice a minor v-sync issue. During your 1st mission you will get commands & hints from your crew. 1 thing I loved was the ability to hit the (back button) during gameplay & not have the game stop, you actually can continue too play while checking your PDA Device, your Game Message Logs & change your in-game settings. Very nice touch by Capcom. They also allow you the ability to switch your view during gameplay ala Ghost Recon. ( 3rd to 1st person)This is done via the D-PAD.
I'm not to sure how the Save System works. All I know Is I began playing on HARD & every time I died no matter where I was @, I had to start all the way from the beginning
After a couple of tries on HARD, I gave-up & went to Normal. Game did feel a little easier on Normal. So far I'm really liking this game. Level 2 is a not a DEMO Level. I started playing it, but stopped cause I have an early day tomorrow & need to get some rest. If you loved GOW, you will definitely love Lost Planet
