Re: Datel XChange 360 Official FAQ Thread

I know some of you are having trouble with the "mem card error, please re-insert" BS. Listen carefully:

Delete the xchange software program using add/remove programs.]
Go to system, device manager and at the bottom remove all instances of the x360 mu usbio - device 1. these should be under usbio controlled devices near the bottom of the list. when i say remove, i mean right click on each instance and uninstall driver for each.
detach the mem card and adapter from the usb port on your computer. detach both individually from one another.
find where your datel install folder is and delete the remaining folder also. typically under your hardrive, program files, datel.
    restart computer
install the program xchange from disk
attach the memory card into the dock THEN the attach the adapter into the usb port. your computer should detect new hardware. when installing direct your computer to look into whatever drive your install disk is in. AFTER THIS FIRST INSTALL, YOU WILL BE PROMPTED A SECOND TIME. THIS IS NECESSARY AND WHILE YOU THINK YOURE INSTALLING DRIVERS TWICE, THERE IS ACTUALLY TWO DRIVERS. direct your computer to same drive location to install.
open the xchange program, click on mem card blade, type anything you want for a backup name and click back up. this creates the image file for when you want to put stuff on your card from the net. this particular folder can be found under the options blade and can be change there also. when you dl files, unzip them to this folder. after they're downloaded, go to computer blade and they should be there. simply select them and click to mem. you're welcome.

sorry if this has already been stated and outlined. but this step by step process was the only way I figured it out. good luck.

Where all can I get this bad boy at? And how much? I just bought the memory card off of eBay for $16.99, lol. What a deal. Now all I need is the transfer kit.

      Thanks guys

Ouch, $7 for shipping? That seems a tad steep. Oh well... I'll keep my eyes open. Maybe I'll find one at the local WalMart or something. Thanks.

Has anyone found a site to download the software? I put Xplorer360 on one of my computers and the transfer kit software on the other and want to drop the Xplorer360 software, but can't find my installation disc.

Isles sent me the file via AIM and it is 35mb in size. I tried opening it and resaving it but the file still comes out 35mb in size once you do all the Transfer Kit steps to it. Apparently the image size is 35mb but the file is only 1.2mb.

                    hey guys,

i know i'll sound like an impatient idiot, but here goes: i have tried at least 5 times to load the mlb 2k6 roster to my memory card, with no success. i have the xchange program installed, the drivers in place and my memory card formatted with backup. i can't get the roster and text file from my documents folder to memory card. everytime i do it, i get a blank memory card when i go to the xbox dash board. i do everything (i think) i'm supposed to be doing, and nothing. i know everyone's going so say follow the directions, but i have done that: downloaded roster file, unzipped it to a file on harddrive, copied the unzipped files to my images folder, transferred contents of images folder to xchange program, and then saved that to memory card, but nothing appears on the xbox when i go to save it to my harddrive. what am i doing wrong?
                    thanks,

repeat exactly step by step what you are doing from installation to looking the save up on mem card. I know it's tedious but I had a similar problem and believe I can help.

My best guess would be that you need to uninstall the drivers for the Xplorer version completely (plug it in, then delete the devices via your device manager) then once you're done with that, install the drivers for the Exchange program.
