What do MAC users do to get game files? I heard the datel is for PC only.

Guys,

I thought I would create an official FAQ thread for those who have picked this device up.

Acid and I just did a little experimenting, and it appears we are able to exchange certain save files with the software Datel provides, and the process is MUCH easier than using the software from 360GameSaves.com. Here's how...

When you install the software that comes with the XChange 360, you'll notice that in your "My Documents" folder, you will have a new folder titled "X360 Memcard Images".

This is the folder that the software uses to save any memory card images you might copy over to your HD. This is also the folder you'll need to copy any memory card images you'd like to transfer to your XBox 360 hard drive.

When you copy an image from your memory card, you'll have two files associated with it. One file is a .txt file. The other is a .z36 file. You can transfer whatever files were on your memory card simply by exchanging these two files.

The process goes like this...

• I saved a roster file from College Hoops to my memory card
• I copied the memory card to my PC using the Datel software
• I sent Acid the .txt file and the .z36 file
• Acid saved these files to his C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\X360 Memcard Images folder.
• Acid started up his Datel software and copied that memory card image to his memory card.
• Acid copied the contents of the memory card to his XBox 360 hard drive by using the dashboard. He went to the "System" blade, chose "Memory", chose "MU", then "Games", then "Unknown Profile", then "College Hoops 2K6". He then selected "Roster1", and chose to copy it to his hard drive.
• Acid started up his College Hoops 2K6 game and loaded that roster file.

So folks, it looks like the Datel software is much more user friendly than we initially anticipated. I hope this helps everyone who plans on picking up the XChange 360.

Will someone please send me the xchange 360 software? I lost the little installation cd and now when the xchange program opens I have no where to send the roster downloads. No Xchange Image file folder...THANKS!!! [email protected]

Could someone please explain why the option to move the files to the memory unit is grayed out? In the XChange 360 "Hard Drive" blade, I can see the files I've downloaded, but the "TO MEM" button is inaccessible. It sounds like other people are having similar problems. I'm sure we'd all appreciate some expert guidance.

Does something need to be done to the files we've downloaded from OS?

The install file doesn't install the whole program with the desktop/image folder...

hey guys Ive used Xchange360 before, and now my laptop says it does not read my USB device. I dont know what to do from here.

Forget the above post. I finally got it working properly.

Now, if I can backup Xbox 1 saves off the 360 HD, I'll be in business.

does anyone know how I get my laptop to read the USB device?? When I plug in my memory card it says the USB device has malfunctioned. Does that mean my memory card is bad?

Has anyone got the problem that when you try backing up your memory card it says "memory card error. please re-insert memory card." ? I have this problem and have no clue what to do. Help!?!?

Ok I had done this before but I just want some insight. My questions are?

When I choose to copy a image to the mem unit is the process completed or do I have to back up that save b4 I load it into my hard drive?

Is there anyway to have more than 1 game save on the mem card?

It seems that you can't. The last file you transfer onto the memory card overwrites the previous file. So you can only save and transfer one file at a time from the memory card to the 360 hard drive See the link below. Post 210 on this thread.
