No, because you're not saving a file, you're saving an image.

Can this entire process be done without buying anything at all? I mean can we copy the file to the harddrive by any other means like the shared folders network or maybe a USB device?

Sounds like you're looking at the wrong place in your software, you need to look at the pc tab, not the memory card tab.

Re: Datel XChange 360 Official FAQ Thread

                      I need a little help...

I uninstalled my Datel XChange at the advice of another poster (I was going to post an NHL roster)...I then reinstalled it. The problem was that it would not read my memory card when transferring files from my 360 to my PC.

Well, after re-installing it no longer works at all. It doesn't read the memory card and it's pretty much useless. I have deleted all files on my hard drive, but nothing works.

It will allow me to install until I get to the part for the drivers for the memory card...there is nothing.

Another problem: our PC is not internet connected. I transfer files via a memory stick from my Mac to our PC...so I cannot go online with that computer to solve the problem...

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Anything would be appreciated! Thanks!

Someone.....anyone....please help! I downloaded the .z36 file. I do not see a .txt anywhere. I put the .z36 in the X360 Memcard folder. What do I need to do to get the file onto my hard drive?

I am not using a memory card, I am only hooking up the HDD to the docking station. What is my next step? What am I doing wrong!

I think you have to use the Xplorer360 software if you're using the Hard Drive.

OK, I just got this to work.

First, you don't need the .txt file. That is something that Xchange360 creates.

I loaded the Xchange 360 software that came with the Datel Unit. Then plugged the cable into a USB port. Then I inserted the memory card ( a new one in my case) and it prompted me about loading some drivers. I let it do so and then it was done. Leave the program running.

Next, Here's what I did. I put the memory card in the 360, went to College Hoops 2k7 and did a save roster. I saved it as Roster1 and saved it to the memory card.

Take out the memory card and plug it into the datel unit. Go to the Xchange360 program, click on the Green Xbox 360 Memory Card tab, where it says name, just put anything, like CollegeHoops2k7roster. Then click the BACKUP Button. It will create a directory on your hard drive in the My Documents folder called X360 Memcard Images. In my case the path was this: C:\Documents and Settings\Martin Coats\My Documents\X360 Memcard Images .

Now, take the .z36 file and copy it to the above directory (I used Windows Explorer, I opened a folder view of where I had saved the downloaded file and dragged and dropped it into the X360 Memcard Images folder.) It doesn't matter how you get it there as long as it's in that directory. Then I deleted the 2 files that were created by Xchange360 leaving only the .z36 file that I downloaded.

Now here's where I had a small bit of trouble. I clicked the Blue hard drive tab and clicked "To Mem" but it didnt' work right. So I exited Xchange360 and restarted it. I clicked the Blue Hard Drive tab, then clicked "To Mem" and it transferred the file to my memory card.

I then closed the program and took out the memory card. I plugged it into the 360 and started it up. You'll need to go to the dashboard, so either boot without a game in or go there by using the button that takes you to your friend list and press Y. You'll need to go all the way to the right to the SYSTEM tab and select MEMORY. Select the Memory Unit, the select Games. You'll see a College Hoops 2k7 icon. Select it and it will give you the option to copy or move it. I selected COPY and told it to copy it to the Hard Drive. Once you do that you're done. Just start the game and it should automatically use the updated rosters.

The only caveat, it warned me that "By copying or moving this item, you will become the new owner. You will not be able to earn achievements for gameplay using this item." So I guess if you want to unlock things and earn achievements you are out of luck if you use this roster. Unless there is another way to do this or a step I'm missing. I used the DKrause roster from 2/16/07 (http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=198502), if it's different on the other one I don't know.

                                Hope this helps,

                                MC
