Paid for mine today. EB games is giving an extra 20% on trades if they are used towards Gears Of War.

I'm going to unload a s*** ton of stuff tonight at the Gamestop by me. Finally going to get rid of the big black box and all my xbox games that aren't back compat. Then CoD2, Graw, Saints Row and anything else I have worth trading in. That should give me quite a bit I hope.

Man, I'm holding out on FFXII for this... I really hope the online play is superb.

I love these games for their online play and their multiplayer. I don't really mess with single player as often when it comes to shooting games.

I haven't been able to find an answer to this, so I apologize if this is a repeat question....

Does anyone know for certain if you can play co-op through the main story mode (online or offline)?

I appreciate any and all info.

I'm almost positive there was co-op, but I don't know if it was both offline and through Live. I also think I read it was drop-in, drop-out.

Co-op is through the entire singleplayer campaign, and can be played over Live. Don't have a link for that, but I know I've read it.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Thursday that early orders for its upcoming Xbox 360 game "Gears of War" are second only to its 2004 blockbuster "Halo 2," giving the company a running start as it aims to compete with the debut of Sony's rival PlayStation 3 console.

"Halo 2" for the original Xbox had pre-orders of 1.5 million and an additional million copies were sold in its first day of release, setting the bar for subsequent Xbox titles.

Looks like Gears may have around 900k-1.4 Million pre-orders. Which makes it the second biggest Xbox title under Halo 2.

"stand-by cheating will cause error messages to show up for all clients, giving them the option to leave the game. in a ranked match this will invalidate all scoring, preventing the player from using it to advance the leaderboards by cheating with this method. "

"the stats are invalidated based on some complex stuff behind the covers, but the basic idea is if you're in a ranked match, and the host keeps lagging, and you keep coming up dead as soon as the lag is over, then the players realize he is cheating and leave the game. just a single player leaving the game due to whatever circumstance does not invalidate all stats in a ranked match, no worries"

How could there already be cheating when the game isn't even out yet? I hope this isn't a sign of bad times to come as I'm really looking forward to this game..

There isn't, yet.

Somebody on the Gears of War forums asked, how is Epic preventing and detecting "stand-by" and other host manipulations?

Its also available for download on the marketplace. I have it and the Hitman blood money videos downloaded. Both are badass.
