No. The VC titles will be played with the classic controller and GC controller. The Wiimote can be flipped on its side to play NES games.

As for a Star Wars game, I hope the first SW game is something like Jedi Outcast so that you can swing a light sabre yourself. That would be ultimate kickass.

I'm kind of scared for the controller configurations if I'm going to be using the Wavebird for an SNES or N64 title, though. Have they said how this will work? Will you be able to customize it at all? Maybe a mini-instruction manual that comes with the download or something will explain it all.

Yeah it might be a bit weird to get used to without having the N64 middle stick/analog/z trigger etc, but shouldn't be too bad hopefully

I think the controller that would be easier to adapt to would be the classic controller since its basically an SNES controller with analogs.

Is anybody going to pick up a warranty when they pick up the Wii? And if I do get a Wii at Wal-Mart, where can I get an extended warranty?

Nope, no extended warranty for me. Every Nintendo product I've owned have been the highest quality. You can basically flush them down the toilet and they'll still work.

I just can't wait! I sold my 360 today. Just didn't do it for me. I'll be happy with the Wii games and VC games until the 360 or PS3 becomes a must buy, or the Xbox 3 or PS4 come out

In saying that, you guys are lucky. In Oz, we have to wait until December 7 for the Wii.

I went to Gamestop today to pickup SDvR07 and they had Trauma Center in stock for the Wii. I didn't even hesitate and picked it up just so I'm not taking a chance come Sunday. I also picked up Rogue Leader for $6, Used Wave Bird Controller for $16, and a 251mb GC memory card at $16. All I need now is the Wii, Zelda, SD Card, and Component Cables.

Fresh you can't get a warranty from Walmart. If you want a warranty, you have to go to EB/GS, Best Buy, or Circuit City.

You don't need a SD card due to the Wii's memory. Are you sure the WaveBird works with the Wii?

My n64 roms folder is 900megs and has 61 games in it. As I mentioned Conker is the biggest at 60mb and we know that won't be on the Wii, then the next biggest is Donkey Kong at 40 and the the Zelda's and Paper Mario around 30mb each.

I'm gonna go the 2Gig personally

Don't forget Admiral, that you can delete VC downloads and then go back and download them again since Nintendo keeps tabs on which ones you purchase.

Has there been any news on Donkey Kong 64 coming out anytime soon? I know its made by Rare, so I'm a little antsy to find out if it will be available at all.
I'm not going to use the Wii for photos or vids, just pure gaming. I want to save my games and download from the VC, so I'm guessing that the 1GB SD card should be cool.

That would be really cool, but I wonder how this would work without having people sharing these games. Do they lock to a profile would be good to stop piracy.

IGN's launch guide said it will work.

I'm not exactly sure how it works, but Nintendo said that you cannot swap game downloads.

I have 7 days through Gamestop, if it doesn't work on Sunday than it's going back for a regular Cube controller. I don't see why it wouldn't work, it's based off the same technology as the regular Cube controller, except for the wireless aspect. I guess we will see on Sunday.

I worry with downloading games and saves that the 512mb could fill up fast. We will see once we download games.

If 512 fills up fast, I'll be amazed. Even at 50MB, that's 10 games to download, Nintendo saves take up nothing.

The only reason I question the Wavebird is it's wireless dongle fitting in the Wii.

When standing vertically, a flap located at the top of the Wii is designed specifically to accommodate GameCube players. The GCN docking station has inputs for up to four Gamecube controllers and memory paks. The inputs are fully compatible with Wave Bird wireless controllers, too. Wii owners interested in exploring Nintendo's back catalog of GCN games will need GCN controllers and memory paks to do so, as the Wii remote and nunchuk are incompatible with GCN games.
