Should I get it (XBox 360) as an impulse buy?
All you guys talking about Oblivion started me thinking about a 360. I had told myself that I was getting too old for video games, but it looks so good. I was just goofing around on the net and looking at walmart.com. I thought, "what the heck, I'll call the local store to see if they have one." They do. They're holding it for me. Should I go for it? By the time I get another controller, a play and charge thing, and Oblivion, it's over $500. Yikes. How much do you think I could sell an XBox, extra S controller, two wireless controllers, HD pack, XBox Live headset, Action replay and around 15 games for?Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

I'd say go for it. The 360 is just hitting its stride when it comes to quality games. In the past month, Ghost Recon, Oblivion, Top Spin 2, Blazing Angels...all are fabulous games. Now really is the time to "jump in" to be completely lame and quote the Microsoft slogan. I'd definitely go for it.
As for your Xbox package...you could probably get 150 or so for it. Maybe more. -

Sell your xbox stuff on ebay. What do you have for the xbox/games, I could give you a rough estimate how to package. I'm an ebay pro at selling.Comment

Xbox = $110-125 w/ 1 controller + HD pack. I'd include the extra wired contoller + headset.
I recently sold my second system on there.
Action Replay = $25
Wireless Controllers = Are they Logitech? If they are, you can make $25-30 on each one.
Which games?
PM, and I'll help if you want me two.Comment

I have:
All three Splinter cells (though I thought about keeping them since they're BC)
Both KOTOR (thought about keeping those too)
Burnout 3: Takedown
NBA2k5
NFL2k5
NHL 2k5
MVP 05
MVP College 06
SSX 3
Halo
Halo 2
Top Spin
Links 2004
Forza (may want to keep this one if it's BC)
Ghost Recon 2
Jade Empire
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (like to keep this if it's BC)
World Championship Poker
MX vs. ATV Unleashed
I think that's it. Thanks for the help.
It wouldn't be just for Oblivion. I'd probably get Top Spin 2, NBA2k6, and Ghost Recon fairly soon as well.Last edited by caseyd; 04-01-2006, 07:41 PM.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

By the way. I did it. I actually called Costco just for the heck of it. They had two bundles left on the shelf from their shipment this morning. 360, extra wireless, play and charge, and Project Gotham for $489. Plus, it's Costco so if it has any problems later on, they have the awesome return policy. That saves the money I'd spend on a warranty. Figured the bundle was a good deal anyway since I was going to get the extra controller and play and charge. Also got Oblivion. Came to just under $600 for everything.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

It's always been said it's about the games. Gamespot calls Oblivion one of the best RPG's ever. I say it's a must buy, Oblivion is a system seller nuff said.
As far as waiting for the PS3 release I say forget about it. It's going to be tougher to score a PS3 than it was a 360 at launch.Comment

Originally posted by caseydFor the same $115-$125? Should I put a minimum on it or just start it at an amount with no minimum? I actually have a friend who may want to buy some of those sports games from me. He'd probably give me close to what he would pay for them at Gamestop. Would you do the other games just as separate auctions for each game?

I'll put my money down and say that the PS3 launch will be better. Sony has come out and said they are planning on developing 1 million units per month up until the launch.Last edited by Peter_OS; 04-01-2006, 09:40 PM.Comment

Re: Should I get it (XBox 360) as an impulse buy?
Seeing as how you're only slightly interested... I'd say buy it on an impulse ONLY if you're financially able to throw down a few hundred bucks. If you're kinda tight on dollars, and a few hundred bucks is a lot to you, consider waiting until the price drops or the PS3 to come out so you can better judge which would be a better investment for ya.Comment
