Re: $60 Games Is Way Too Much

The cost of developing games has gone up exponentially over the past few years. PS2 and Xbox devkits are about 5K a pop, 360's even more.

To whoever said sports games should have 2-year development cycles, I agree with you. Won't happen, though.

It was a GS forum..If gamers want cheaper games, we need to be more selective..If MS still charges 50.00 for next gen games why can't others..
One reason as to why MS could is because they don't have to pay that fee 3rd party companies like EA, Activision, 2KSports, etc. are paying to MS, Nintendo, and Sony's platforms.

I would love a 2 yr cycle for sports games, and then have downloadable content the following year for $15-20 that would patch the game. That will never happen.

I haven't bought a 360 game since launch. I did get one for Christmas, but I have yet to find one that I think is worth 60 bucks, to me, yet. Hopefully that will change.

I actually fired up my 360 last night for the first time in about a month and downloaded the demos and played them, I wasn't impressed. I can afford to buy whatever I want, but I think it's silly to pay 60 bucks for a game and play it for a week. It took me many years to realize that. If Madden is good this year, I will buy it, but I won't be preordering any more games with overnight delivery which ends up costing you , at least, 70 dollars for a 360 game.

This is a down time for gaming IMO. I think I'm getting old.

GRAW & Oblivion are worth the $60.
