        games having lag has nothing to do with the Sony servers... as is now, gamers connect to each other while playing a game. For example, if I sign onto EA servers to find someone to play, as soon as we connect to each other, we're not relying on EAs servers for connection, we're connected person to person.

        As for charges, Sony can easily make money off of advertisements, charges for downloads (music, demos, etc.). Its not a loss proposition that we're talking about, its simply less on the general consumer.
        Those jobs running the servers are easily over 100k a year per how many people that they have working. Its simple things that are free are never as good as things that you pay for. What has Sony ever done to make you think that they can run an online service like XBOX live?
