Count me in as interested in this system as well!

Just bought a house 2 years ago, got married a year ago, and cannot, repeat CANNOT justify paying $600 for a system only.....nevermind games and accessories.

Right now, I could give a crap if graphics get any better. My wife is starting to enjoy the "fun" games on my GBA SP, and I've been thinking of getting a DS. I have an XBox, but I think the next console I'm getting is going to be the Wii. At this point in my life, I dont' have a lot of time for gaming, and I'd just like to have fun again...like when I was 10 and got my first NES.

I think a $299 price range for the Wii sounds good, specially with 360 at 399 and 599 ps3.

Appreciated. Few quick questions. Does Nintendo own all the rights to previous games on their systems? Is Goldeneye and Super Dodge Ball and such realistic to expect as downloads? Or will it just be first party Nintendo games? Any word on this? And are we guessing the $200 range? And $5-10 per downloadable game? Thanks!

I'm no expert on this. Many others know far more than me. Its a safe bet that their classic franchises like Zelda, etc. will make it to the new system along with a new franchise as well. I really don't know about anything else.

As for price, the feature set will already be mainstream and is far less powerful than the 360 or PS3. They are focusing on gaming and cutting costs as per their interviews. They are going by the fact that games sell systems and not the other way around. I don't expect any real expensive cutting edge technology and I'm guessing that its at least $100 US less than the 360. I would be surprised at $299 where it simply wouldn't be cheap enough compared to the 360 and its minor package which is $299. I think $199 would really get the buzz going and might be the price. However, this is just a pure guess on my part. We need to remember that most consoles are very expensive early on due to brand new technologies while the Wii isn't cutting edge and therefore should not be that expensive.

If it comes out at 249 or less, then I'm there on launch day, otherwise I'll spend Christmast money to get it for sure.

THere has been ZERO indication of price.

Nintendo said prior to E3 that it would cost less than 300 dollars, so there hasn't been zero indication but no firm price has been announced.

ehh still....i've given up on nintendo. i've had n64 and gamecube for the past couple of gens. no xbox of ps2 or p21. i dont care if its 100 bucks...they lost alot of fans on the gamecube.

So no Mario and no Smash Bros. at launch means Nintendo is really hoping to move consoles with Zelda, which isn't even a true Wii game.

There was a comparison article on the three sytems in the Detroit Free Press and they guessed the price would be under or around $200.
