    Re: E3: Mass Effect Impressions

I recently downloaded all the new HD videos up on gametrailers.com. This game certainly does look impressive. I can't wait.

What stuff with Bastila? As I recall you could just tell her you loved her over and over again with your sly dog responses and she'd just dismiss it.

Yeah, I know. But that storyline was damn engaging. She'd shoot you down but her character was awesome.

It might seem weird, but KotOR is almost as big of my Star Wars memory as the films. Weird huh?

That whole story was so well done and I'm in the camp that believes its a lot harder to make a game work in a preexisting universe in comparison to a universe you can create. Mass Effect will be a legendary experience if Bioware holds true to form.

This fall might be the best few months of games since I've been in gaming.

LOL @ the handmaiden stuff too

Bastilla > blind chick > handmaiden

I finally got the book a couple days ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. I hope they make some more so that we can get even more information on the backstory.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I finished the book and I can't wait to see what happens with Saren and the Serenity.

So you recommend picking it up? I read the preview of the book that was available in that OXM issue and it was pretty cool. I was wondering whether I should pick it up prior to the game's release, that way I am already sucked into the Mass Effect "universe" even more and the game will be that much more immersive.

Yeah I definitely recommend it, especially if you're looking forward to the game. Now I know what's so special about the Spectres and why it's such a big deal for you to be controlling the first human spectre.

So, what's everyones first character going to be like? I'm thinking Earthborn Sole-Survivor Vanguard.

I don't remember the character classes but I'm going to make either and Earthborn or someone who's been raised in space and who is equally good in biotics and weapons. I might do the sole survivor thing too.

I will probably go with Earthborn - Ruthless - Vanguard or Infiltrator.

Infiltrator is similar to a Vanguard, but instead of biotic abilities they blend technical abilities with combat.
