Re: Nintendo DS Lite
Originally posted by mgoblueyeah, i really do...much more than the PSP, because for me the games are totally different than consoles, and i just found myself not playing the PSP at home when i could just play mostly the same things on a PS2 or xbox. I've determined that any portable system needs to have games that make me want to play at home, because I don't travel enough/take a train/whatever to make it worth it otherwise.
This system between him, me , my daughter (Nintendogs rented), and even my wife (Tetris) is getting more PT than his PSP ever did.
The Lite is a waaaaayyy better portable gaming (only) than the PSP ever was, bar none.Comment

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
decided to pick up NSMB and Brain Age this past Monday when I was up at grad school for the week. Then...my DS ran out of juice on Tuesday and I couldn't charge it. Now that I'm home...it's charging!!
LOVE Brain Age. Great concept and execution. You don't even realize you're playing a game. That's what I sold the wife on with getting the DS...the puzzle aspect and the extension the touch-screen adds to the games. I especially like the left-handed option for "backwards" people like me
NSMB: What can you say? OLD SCHOOL BABY!!! I feel like I'm in 5th grade again when I got my first NES and had high score battles against my dad in SMB1.

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
Well, I picked up a DS Lite on the way home today because of all this praise. Got Brain Age and the new Mario Bros as well. My wife and I are going on vacation to the Grandon Canyon this coming week with her family so I bought it just it time for the plane and all the driving.Comment

That's the thing I like about the DS. It goes back to the core of what made a game a game...fun factor, replayability, and enjoyment. Sure, the graphics aren't as pretty as the PSP or the media functions are limited, but it does what it does superbly and with a unique twist. I hemmed and hawed about getting the DS Lite at launch, and finally broke 1 week after launch.

I'm 23, so you and I are about the same age, and I remember when my brother got an NES, I thought Mario and Duck Hunt were so cool...Comment

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
LOL, yeah I was thinking the same thing when he said that. If he was in 1st grade, and the other guy was in 9th, that's an 8 year difference to when the system came out. I was in 3rd grade when it came out, I'm 29.Comment

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
So I pulled my bag out of my car today and my DS came flying out. It skidded across the concrete. Now it matches my cell phone! Still works and I don't care much about phone/portable electronics aethetics(sp) as long as they workUniversity of Evansville Graduate
