I just know how handheld system release's go. The PSP, DS, GBA have all been easy to find when they released.
Oh god, the PSP launch was bad. You were still able to walk in days and weeks after launch to buy a PSP.

I remember the DS was easy to pickup also. I sometimes wish I would have picked this up before but that's ok to get one now with a larger library.

The GBA SP was a bit on the harder side to get one right away without a prepay or trying to get one right after launch.

bump. I figured since it launched today, we could discuss some stuff in here rather than everything in the psp vs ds thread.

I'm really liking this so far. My girlfriend who hates video games and thinks I'm stupid for playing them, played Brain academy for 45 minutes in the car on the way home from Chattanooga. Mission accomplished!

I tried to explain Nintendogs to her, but she thought it sounded stupid.

Just got Super Mario 64 off of ebay for $19 including shipping and Trauma Center for $30 including shipping. Not too bad.

              Re: Nintendo DS Lite

Well, my buddy called. He's a manager at a gamestore by me that hooks me up on a regular basis. Anyway, he goes "We got 22 DS' in, 15 are prepays, 7 were for the public, and 6 have sold already" I am like, "Ok, cool". He then asks me if I want the other DS Lite. I told him not really but thanks. He goes "Do you use your GBA anymore?" I told him no, not in a long time. He told me if I brought in my normal DS and my GBA, he'd give me a Lite for nothing. So, I bit.

He told me as he gave me the DS, that he can call his DM now and tell him he got rid of every DS in his store in 2 hours after opening, I guess the prepays count, he still had about 8 of those left.

Anyway, so I have the Lite now. Played it for about an hour and it is bright. The normal DS is about the 2nd setting of 4 on the Lite. The regular DS has better sound. The stylus is a lot nicer with the Lite. Everything else is about the same. To me they both feel the same while playing.

So, yes, I flipped flopped on the Lite, but I think I said I would never "buy" one I just traded my DS and GBA for it straight up. I was only keeping my GBA for my wife and she only plays games on her cell phone now, so it was pretty much a no brainer I guess...

              Laugh away... LOL

Cool EG. I'm loving the DS Lite. The only downside I can see with it, and maybe it's just a setting on mine is that the volume doesn't seem to be as loud as the old DS. I also can't get the screen protector on it without air bubbles being in it, so I'm about to go without screen protectors.

I'll chime in on the sound issue, and I agree. The sound is a little lacking, but loud enough for me. So far, I'm loving the DS Lite. Going to purchase another game tomorrow. NSMB is awesome, great investment so far.

LOL bro, I remember you weren't getting one. That deal is sweet and don't blame you for making the trade. Enjoy, cause I know you will.

Nice deal. I would jump on that too. I have two GBA's that are collecting dust, I'd of made the trade too. As it is, I don't plan on upgrading to the DS Lite, the original DS is good enough for me. I don't want to see Nintendo start making games with special DS Lite features, that would tick me off.

                            Stupid question guys.....

How do you save games? Do I need to buy a memory card or is there some thing built into the system? Any other things I need to buy for it when I go to get on this afternoon?

They save to the cartridge, ala old school Nintendo games.
