Re: Nintendo DS Lite
I don't hate AC on the DS, but I agree it isn't as good as the Cube version. I think my biggest problem with it was it not having a calendar. You can't figure which days are event days like you could on the Cube. The flower hybirds, wifi, and the expanded fish and stuff was cool on the DS though.Originally posted by ExtremeGamer

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
The one thing AC had on the GC was charm (I know I hate that word to). But it had it and brought it in spades. My main problem with AC for the DS was that it tried too much to be like the GC version.
Everytime I played the DS version I kept comparing it to the GC game. For instance, when Nook came to meet you at the Train Station, or when the first time you saw KK Slider playing his guitar on Sat. Nights by the Train Station or when Rover came and talked to you while you were riding the train.
When you first experience AC for the first time and if you 'get/understand the game' you go wow that's clever, fresh, innovative. It's tough to get the same feeling from what basically is the same game only on a smaller screen but IMO not nearly as good as the original.
But i'm really looking forward to the upcoming version with the funky controller. That should be a blast, shaking a tree, catching bugs, digging holes, fishing....can't wait.

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
Those didn't really matter to me. I played Punchout a few times on the original, but it was nothing I cared that much about.Originally posted by ErvI'm suprised nobody mentioned the NES games, that automatically eliminated a purchase from me.

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
You can play NES and SNES games on the DS, except you have to purchase an adaptor and do something that I can't talk about here due to the TOS.Originally posted by ErvI'm suprised nobody mentioned the NES games, that automatically eliminated a purchase from me.Comment

Re: Nintendo DS Lite
That's as a pretty good overview of the new DS. The brighter screen is nice, I don't really care about the new look. The new placement of the power button is nice though, I don't know how many times I've accidently powered off my unit in the middle of the game when I meant to hit up on the D-pad.Originally posted by candyman56I found a site that has an excellent comparision between the DSlite and DS.
