True, but there's gamey stuff and then there is gamey stuff that takes you out of the game and you consciously recognize you are playing a game.

The hay leap is the GTA spray shop.

This kind of gamey-ness is not what I expected from this game. I was expecting Splinter Cell in the ol' Jerusalem.

Yeah but not everything has to be 100% realistic. In fact, these things you speak of come directly from movies so I personally think they are really cool that these things are not realistic. I think people focus too much on realisticness (is that a word, LOL) and should focus more on the enjoyability.

Also, if you watch in one of the videos the guards start to catch up to him till he takes to the roofs of the buildings.

I agree we don't need dead on realism over enjoyability, but when I see in the one video the guy running away from 10 guards and then doing laps around the same city section adding guards to his parade every go around, I groan. Hopefully as others said, it was an easier difficulty or dumbed down for presentation purposes.

I agree with your point, but in this sense, it's far too obvious. Again, it very well be a matter of difficulty being set.

Also, I think the word is realisticnessish. No?

                        Eurogamer article

And much like Crackdown, which incidentally parts of the game very much reminded me of, it was fantastic fun just to pick a building in the distance and work out the best way of getting to the top of it. Again like I experienced after playing Crackdown, later on that evening as we were wandering around Montreal I found myself looking at real life buildings contemplating which edges or windows I could grab a hold of, and which ledges were perfect for propelling myself to the top. The graphics and draw distance in the game are quite staggering and that new next-gen feature of "if you can see it you can scale it" was more than evident.
It's worth mentioning at this point, however, that I am slightly concerned that the combat will fast become repetitive - even during my short time with the game I found myself automatically resorting to repeatedly pushing X to counter and soon found this somewhat monotonous. But in fairness, there are various new moves and attacks to be learned as you progress through the game and each of the game's four weapons - long sword, hidden blade, throwing knives (which are wisely in limited supply and are ineffective against 'boss targets') and fist - all perform a wide variety of ferocious and ruthless attacks. It's too early to predict just how big a deal this will turn out to be, but this was one of the first concerns that came to my attention.

                        Some good impressions.

True, maybe i give games more levity since i'm an older gamer. After all a big disembodied yellow mouth going around gobbling dots and 4 different colored ghosts chasing him is only realistic if you're on your 3rd hit of LSD and on a bad head trip in Maui.
