I was going to pick this up Wednesday, but I may hold off a week or two since CoD4 is owning me at the moment.

                1Up Review - 7.0

Though I'm focusing on a lot of Assassin's Creed's faults, this doesn't mean I didn't enjoy playing the game -- it attempts a lot of ambitious things and it almost succeeds at every one. But it's apparent that these grandiose ideas may have been a little too much to master the first go-round. But hey, at least the groundwork is laid for a killer sequel -- right, Ubisoft?

I'd say so too. I think when you can see some flaws in the AI just by watching videos, that says a lot. The game looks great, but even with that horse scene recently posted, if a guy on a horse comes by swinging a sword, who's going to just stand there almost not even defending himself? It just makes the AI look dim.

I went from being very interested in this game to not interested at all. It looks to be very repetitive.

Yep, even at $40, I am leaning towards a pass. COD 4 is perfect, still have Halo 3, GH 3, and RB is going to set me back $170 in a week.

I am going to wait for IGN and GS to see what they have to say by comments similar to the 1up review have been surfacing everywhere in the past couple of days.

It's 40 bucks at Fry's, so I'll still probably get it this week sometime (maybe end of the week), but this went from more anticipated to not as much. I kinda expected this to happen though, i dunno. Just seems that I can get around 40ish for a trade in, so too tough to pass up.

I think I may wait on this as well. I'm going to play it but I've also told myself to stay away from buying games like this. Just seems that I could rent it and beat it over a dedicated week.

I rather save my money for Mass Effect and let it be. When Blockbuster gets Assassin's Creed I'll give it a strong shot.

I think Eurogamer has the most well written reviews, and the Crackdown comparison pretty much dampens all the excitement I had for this game.
