Stories like these coupled with my own is why I don't buy anything over a $100 at Bestbuy.

It doesn't matter BB is a National Chain. Like others have said go to the Store and ask or speak to the Manager and explain your situation.

If nothing else they should be able to order a Core system from another Best Buy, I wouldn't think that'd be that difficult for a manager to do.

Dont expect anything from BB, like the guy said...Dont buy anything over $100 there even with a warranty. Theyll make your life hell before they honor it.

I've never had a problem returning broken PS2's. I guess I must be lucky.

BB does it again... I will never buy a warranty from them EVER... If I can get an extended warranty for the manufacturer I go that route..

My experience has shown dealing with the company directly is more effective then going 3rd party..

Dude you just pis@ed me off. There is no reason to say that. Not everyone has 150 bucks just laying around. Just because you may be able to afford it doesn't mean that everyone can. Plus why in the hECK would he just throw money down the drain!!!!!!!!! Think about it man, different people live differently and maybe that 150 is for medical bills.. You never know. They already did honor his warranty.

Best Buy will rip you off, but I don't see why this guy is complaining. He got his money back. I don't see why it's Best Buy's fault that cores aren't very popular right now.

me either. i have probably returned 5 ps2's (about every time there is a price drop) and I have NEVER had a problem. I also have used their cpu warrantees, with ZERO problems. Hopefully this isn't a sign that i will be experiencing problems in the future.

The only time I waive on extended BB warranties is when they want to perform their own repairs (Computers) at the store and at that point it's NO THANK YOU. I heard of real horror stories there.

When it comes to just straight product replacement they have always treated me fairly.
