The only time I waive on extended BB warranties is when they want to perform their own repairs (Computers) at the store and at that point it's NO THANK YOU. I heard of real horror stories there.

When it comes to just straight product replacement they have always treated me fairly.

I bought a computer there and the warranty. My CPU broke, I took it in for repair. THey couldn't fix it. THey didn't haev that same model in either so they ended up giving me a better one. Like I have said, maybe my BB is different but nothing but good stuff from them.

Cool that you had a good experience and I guess it does depend on the store and location. I know of first hand horror stories with their PC tech Support.

They already did honor his warranty.

Best Buy will rip you off, but I don't see why this guy is complaining. He got his money back. I don't see why it's Best Buy's fault that cores aren't very popular right now.

its that they arnt getting anymore cores in and it seemd that was there plan all along (to just then have pre's in stock and no cores) and its not like they give u cash back if they did i wood be happy,but they give u a BB gift card so im stuck with them pretty much.....its a rip off,but im never gonna buy anything from them agian.

I was at Best Buy today and all they had was Premiums. You never know, it could be MS also sending more Premies than Cores. Not trying to defend Best Buy, but that is what is occuring. It's like buying a stereo with a replacement plan at Best Buy or Circuit City which has 3 models out priced at $299, $399, and $499. Say you bought the $399 model and it breaks 8 months into the replacement plan, but now these models were obsolete and replaced by a new line and they turn out to be a bit more expensive. They give you the $399 back, but now you have to spend more money to get the upgraded model. Just be glad that they gave you the $299 back in some form or another. Imagine if you had no warranty at all, you'd be spending another $300-$400.

If you sell the HDD on ebay as new never used before, I don't see why you couldn't get $100. The component cables is where you won't get much, but I do understand where your coming from being upset that they have no more cores.

I haven't had too many problems with Best Buy over the years. I sometimes almost wish I bought the replacement plan from them for the 360 instead of MS after hearing many horror stories of people getting 2-3 broken systems before MS finally sent them a working one and what not.

Nasty, if you talk to the BB Store Manager and explain it the you've made your case here on this forum, they might just give you a Premium System instead. Bring your old hard drive with you that you bought for the Core and ask to do a straight swap.

p.s. bring your original receipt showing you bought the HD from them.
