Chromehounds (Xbox 360)

How many are excited about and going to pickup Chromehounds this week? I'm interested and am waiting to see a few reviews before deciding to pick this one up.

Eurogamer gave the game a bad review, so let's see what IGN, Gamespot, and a few others have to say about this.

I guess there are hundreds of Mech Parts available in this game, check out what this guy did to his mech. He decked it out, or some will say, "Pimp My Mech".

A few guys said it was a little slow. I'm gonna d/l the demo tonight and see. I've been jonesin' for some Armored Core love on the XBOX, so this seems to be right up my alley.

I played a few mech games before Armored Core( PS2) and one on the Dreamcast (I forget the name). The only one I have now is Square's Front Mission 4 but that's more of a Mech Strategy/RPG game.

I find Mech games ok and they don't pull my trigger. If it weren't $59.99 and more like $29.99-$39.99 I might have tried it.

I REALLY want to pick this up, but with NCAA dropping next week I may hold off for reviews. The customization looks awesome, and suiting your mech with millions of possibilities is guaranteed to keep the game fresh in my mind (sort of like racing games where you can tweak everything on the car continuously to find the right balance for you). Later in the thread the original poster starts talking about what he outfitted his mech with, his available weight compared to what his current set of mech legs could carry, the kickback going right and not just straight back because his cannons are mounted on the right side of his mech...I legit popped wood just reading all of it.

That, and I'm slowly turning into EG with my game collection.

I read that not all the mechs are slow, when you buy certain parts you are able to speed them up.

Eurogamer gave it a 4/10. That's brutal. I don't know if I tried the demo but I know that it wasn't too appealing. Man I'm going to have to check that sucker out later like all other games that interest me.

LOL, it just didn't appeal to me, such a lousy demo. I don't mind slow gameplay, but that was ridiculous.

I say it gets a 6.5 from IGN and a 5.0 from Gamespot.
