What time are you guys playing?

Re: Chromehounds (Xbox 360)
There's four guys in the squad right now, Candy, with about another four showing interest. Only six can fight together at a time, but the squad roster can hold 20.
Once you get online, you should have more than enough cash to buy a decent Hound.
Terry, you are of course more than welcome to join us!
Country: Sal Kar
Squad: MetalDespots
Password: X,Y, d-pad up, d-pad up
I'm usually on starting between 10:30 - 11:30 EDT. The only obstacle to this tonight would be if my son is still sick. Then I may not be on at all. Other squad members (at least two) can still welcome new members, though, and of course play togther if I don't happen to be there.Comment

There's a shock. If I bought it, I know you're my buying brother. You'll get it.
Only problem is, I rented itComment

Gahhhh....Chromehounds...NCAA...Chromehounds.....N CAA....I was a big Battletech fan, and I wouldn't mind slow, strategic gameplay. Plus, Madden is already pre-paid...do I really need NCAA if I'm just a casual college football fan?
Decisions....Decisions.
How immersive is this game? Does it have a gritty realism?Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Chromehounds (Xbox 360)
If you're unsure, HMcCoy, I'd definitely rent first. Some people will love this game, some people will hate it. I'm not sure what you mean by gritty realism, exactly...we are talking about Giant Walking Robots!
However, if you want to hear about some gritty combat details:
-Recoil is present and occasionally nasty. You have to account for it, and design your hounds accordingly with stable bases for the weaponry you've assigned
-Managing Ammo can definitely be a factor
-The angle of fire comes from the placement of your weapons on the Hounds' body. This can make a huge difference in shot concentration and spread.
-Explosions, flashes, smoke are all present and affect visability and aim
-Your hound can recoil violently when hit by enemy ordinance, trashing your aim. Weapons can be destroyed, gun camera's can be knocked out, etc.
-Engaging the enemy at the proper distance and with the proper tactics for your squad load out is of extreme importance.
I find both the combat and Hound design engrossing, but a lot of that will be personal taste.Comment

Chrome Hounds Squad Call: Thurs, 7-20-06 10:30 PM EDT!!!
Looking for interest in a Thurs night game. Probably gonna make it the 'last chance' night to see if there is enough interest to sustain a DSP-OS squad. Squad vs Squad action in the persistent war is where this game shines, and if we don't have enough interest from the two sites I'm probably going to disband the squad and join another.
Any interest?Comment

I'm really interested in joining your squad. I've had the game since last Friday and I'm loving it!!! I've only played the SP missions, thus far, but I'm really interested in getting into a squad and taking the battle online in MP.
Like you, I've got a small child (3 yr. old daughter/ b-day was yesterday 7/18...happy b-day baby) and can usually be available to play online around 10:30 PM EDT during the week. Also, I pray that your child gets better. Believe me, I know how difficult it is when your child is ill and not just in relation to videogaming.
Anyway, my gamertag is GodsSon777 and I'm a 33 yr. old (read: mature) gamer. I'm down with strategy and look to have fun with other cats of like minds. If you want, you can send me a friend request and we can take it from there. If not, I'll just try to catch you at the Squad Call tomorrow night.

Re: Chromehounds (Xbox 360)
Miles,
I'll definitely send you a friend request.
Thanks for your well-wishes! My son is doing much better. It was only a bad two-day cold (w/stomach involvement :S) but as you know, you feel bad about anything. (My own children -two boys- are 2 1/2 and 8 months, and I'm 33 myself)
It's definitley nice to game with like minded gamers rather than risking unknowns out on Live, which is why I was hoping to get enough guys from a couple of sites I like. You haven't seen anything if you haven't seen it online yet...
Peace.Comment
