I say it gets a 6.5 from IGN and a 5.0 from Gamespot.

I was looking so forward to this game and after hearing that the demo is bad and those reviews is really disappointing.

I'll wait till it's used possibly, but I think I'm getting Prey for sure tomorrow since I liked the Prey demo.

If you create a UK Silver account on Live, than you can play Chromehounds.

Hounds comes out tomorrow, but I bought Prey today.

I need to wait till after ECW to play, I have 3 small kids so my gaming takes place late at night.

Sure, there are times where Chromehounds is boring, but the boring parts are a part of the framework of the team concept that ultimately leads to a successful attack.

Did FROM take this sense of battle realism too far? This is hard to say. The fun quotient in Chromehounds is more case-by-case than most Xbox 360 games. But as I sat through the sparser and droll parts of a Chromehounds mission, I always knew that it would lead to a greater good. I always felt like I was helping the team, even as a Heavygunner in a 5mph route to higher ground. If you tend to be the “it’s all worth it in the end” personality type, then Chromehounds is a must-have for your Xbox 360."

Why, did you find the review to be way too negative in certain areas?

This game still looks promising. I have a bunch of games to trade in still, so I may pick this up tomorrow. Gamestop by me is still giving 40% more when you trade in 4 or more games/dvd's.

I can. It's a sim mech game. I'm fighting the urge to go get this tomorrow, customizing the HOUND alone would make me gitty. After that, making roles of the HOUNDS important just about puts it over the top for me...

Yeah, the reviewer didn't like the graphics as the mech's disappered when dead, he wasn't to big on the sounds, and thought the game had boring parts. But he gives it an 8.7. Just didn't all add up.

Extreme, if this game was bad I think that Team XBOX would not have been generous at all. I've been following their site for years and even though some reviews had me scratching my head in the past, they have been dead on for the most part.

Like Millenium just said, this is a "Sim" mech game and not "Arcade". I never had the opportunity to play Steel Battalion since it was $200 w/controller. There are fast moving mechs and then you have the slow moving ones. If this game plays anything like MechWarrior 2 or even Heavy Gear, than this is going to be good.

I have read the review twice already and still don't see what is so bad about this game. It has it's negatives yes, but I think from the review the positives outweight the negatives.
