Re: Half-Life 2: Episode Two (360/PS3)
Looks like Valve is focusing on the PC and 360 versions, leaving EA to do most of the work on the PS3 version. Wonder how that'll turn out.
Doug Lombardi: Yeah. Our traditional model has been we release on the PC and then somewhere in the next five years or something it'll make it to a console, and we're finding out that there's parity between the PC and the next-gen systems, so we're able to deliver the same great experience on all three platforms. We're working together with EA to extend the initial launch - we're working on the 360 version and the PC version, and we're collaborating with them and some of their studios on the PS3 version - to deliver everything at the same time.Comment

Re: Half-Life 2: Episode Two (360/PS3)
Valve's Doug Lombardi talks Half-life 2 happenings
GI: Are the console versions being developed neck and neck with the PC game or is the PC version much farther along?
Lombardi: I wouldn’t say it’s much farther along. Again, we’re trying to build the tools and technology set so that as soon as something comes up on the PC we’re able to get it over to the consoles. For example, if we were in Seattle right now we could go over to the side of the office where the 360 version’s being built and you could play all of the way through Portal in the exact same state that it is on the PC. We haven’t gotten our toolset as mature on the PS3 yet. We’re still figuring that out and getting over the ramp, but we’ve gotten to a good place on the 360 where the PC and the 360 are almost completely in tandem right now.

X06: Portal Impressions
The new wunderkinds at Valve talk about their amazing class project and show off the best-looking version of Half-Life 2 yet.
The next station over, however, the team showed of Half-Life 2 on the 360, calling it the best looking title yet. High-dynamic range lighting has been added, as well as some excellent reflection effects. We only saw a minute of the Canals level. The sky was simply amazing, brighter and more colorful than ever, and it had already looked damn good. The Combine chopper was reflected in the ripples of the water, its shadow looming ominously on the canal walls. It was only a few seconds, but it looked wonderful.
Perhaps the best part of the entire show was the front-end menu, where you can choose between Half-Life 2, Episode One, Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress Two. We didn't even play the game but seeing five pieces of awesome content on one disc made me more excited than the old Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge.

Half-Life 2: Opening Up the Orange Box
Video Preview, hands-on, and in-depth features on the best deal of the year.
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/792/792047p1.html
In October, Half-Life 2: Orange Box arrives for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The Orange Box is packed with content -- Half-Life 2, Episode One, Episode Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. For $59.99 on consoles and $49.99 on PC, gamers get three very unique gaming experiences. Valve's goal was to offer a great single-player game, an awesome multiplayer shooter, and a unique (and possibly revolutionary) adventure title. It appears all three goals have been met.
Over the past five days, IGN has opened the Orange Box and peeked inside. We've played Episode Two, examined the nine character classes in Team Fortress 2, and discovered new story info by stepping through Valve's Portal. We cap the week off with an exclusive video preview, featuring new interviews and brand new footage.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Team Fortress 2 Hands-on Preview
As I said at the beginning of the lengthy preview, Team Fortress 2 is shaping up to be the deepest multiplayer game of the year, as well as the most imaginative. The visuals may be the first thing that grabs you, but it’ll only take a game or two to get you hooked. The classes are varied, unique and (perhaps most importantly) perfectly balanced, ensuring a long shelf life. This is one game that we know we’ll still be playing for many, many months (if not years) to come.
