Saint's Row Demo Available now @ GameStop/EBGames

I was reading online, and stumbled across this. So I call my local EB Games, and GameStop. And both have it for those who put $5 down. I'm going tomorrow to put my $5 from NCAA towards Saints Row.

I just got the demo a few minutes ago after pre-paying, I'll be back late tonight with my opinion on the game.

I got it in the new OXM today. Gave some time to it, it's essentially GTA. Same basic controls except I like GTA's aiming better. The graphics are sharp and the gameplay is good. Fake cars and fake radio stations as well. You make your character at the beginning, some of the edits are greyed out for the demo though. Soundtrack is cool, first song I heard was Black Sheep "Flavor of the Month", which I haven't heard in forever. I like it, it should be awesome online, but don't expect anything but another GTA clone.

I called a couple of Gamestops to see if they had the demo. They didn't. Then I looked it up on their site:

I called their help phone number about it too . . .You get the demo disc when you receive the game. <scratches head>

I understand there's making of content on the disc that will play in a DVD player, but why do you need the demo if you have the game already? Oh well . . . guess I'll just wait til August 1st to try it out.

That's what the mgr told me at Gamestop when I was pre-ordering, that this game is a next gen version of the GTA series.

I just got back from my local EB Games and saw the demo fall off the shelf as he was getting a memory card. I said "hey, is that the Saint's Row demo?" He said yep and tossed one in the bag for me.

I pre-ordered mine, and got the demo, trailer, and making of demo right there on the spot. They were almost out, they said alot of people caught wind of this, and have pre-ordered a good many. Initial impressions are good, feels pretty good control wise. With some tweaking, and better frame rate, this game is going to take up alot of time that Madden and NCAA doesnt get.

Gamestop by me had NO-CLUE what I was talking about when I asked about the demo while purchasing PREY... I want this DEMO BAD.....

Both my gamestop and ebgames have the demo here around DFW, Texas. Got it from Gamestop with my preorder. WOW.
