Originally posted by ExtremeGamerI got it in the new OXM today. Gave some time to it, it's essentially GTA. Same basic controls except I like GTA's aiming better. The graphics are sharp and the gameplay is good. Fake cars and fake radio stations as well. You make your character at the beginning, some of the edits are greyed out for the demo though. Soundtrack is cool, first song I heard was Black Sheep "Flavor of the Month", which I haven't heard in forever. I like it, it should be awesome online, but don't expect anything but another GTA clone.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Saint's Row Demo Available now @ GameStop/EBGames
I put my 5 down at EB and recieved the demo. I had fun playing it. I completed all the missions that were allowed for the demo. It had missions like killing the gang members, picking up girls and returning them to another location. I liked the graphics, soundtrack music - i heard some wu tang songs from masta killa, ghostface, some old school from black sheep, and i like the location indicator which you can just click any location on the map and it will give the directions via the map on how to get there. The things that i didn't like were not having blood throughout the game like thay had in the gta series. Maybe the blood will be added into the final version but i was running people over with the cars and no blood. Also during the cutscenes it was choppy. Overall though i had fun playing the demo and im looking forward to playing the final version.
Also on the disk you can install the saints row theme and gamer pics. There is a trailer, screens, and making of the game.Last edited by videobastard; 07-22-2006, 07:52 AM.Comment

LOL, you can drink in the demo. The screen gets blurry and it's hard to drive. Hilarious!Comment

Originally posted by tater_132000Ive only played for about an hour so far, but my impressions are its a very solid game. I like the shooting a lot more than GTA since there is no auto aim, it requires more skill. The physics are freakin sweet. The only thing I like better from GTA is the driving. Hopefully in the final build, the driving will be tuned a little better. The cars just dont seem to turn much without using the E-brake. Playing the demo has done nothing but solidify my thoughts about picking this up on 8-29.Comment

Re: Saint's Row Demo Available now @ GameStop/EBGames
Originally posted by ExtremeGamerAfter playing it some more, I'm really liking it. Because of the graphics and gameplay, I'm liking it more than GTA right now. I like the fact that the rest of the city is alive as well as what you do. This could be a huge online game.
If you love GTA you'll love this game to death. Great voice acting (Keith David is really good), great grafx. You can't go into every building, but the ones you can have no load times. It's pretty cool to have your own detailed CAP in hi-def cutscenes...kinda like Def Jam:FFNY.
It basically plays alot like the turf wars in San Andreas. Like many have said, this game is the natural next-gen step of GTA, and it's nothing groundbreaking or new, just everything you're already accustomed to refined to perfection. Car physics aren't as forgiving, but do control nicely. They feel a bit like PGR 3 to me. The aiming is manual, but should be no problem for anyone with FPS (strafing) experience. The biggest difference is that the people in the city feel real. They say alot more, they look alot better, and with the ragdoll physics, killing them seems to matter. You feel bad when you hit an old lady and watch her crumpled body skid along the sidewalk. Especially if you've stopped to talk to her in the past, and listened to the 15 or so phrases she'll lay on you if you stand there and listen.
Overall, it's a great ode to GTA...Saints Row just zoomed to #1 on my wishlist. GTAIV is going to really have to come hard to top this, IMO. Unlike the other clones, this one's production values are pretty high.Last edited by HMcCoy; 07-22-2006, 03:30 PM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Saint's Row Demo Available now @ GameStop/EBGames
Watch the making of, I didn't know it had alot of known people doing the voice acting. I played about 15 minutes last night, fixing to play a little more here in a few. So far my only gripe is the driving. But this is a E3 build, so maybe its been fine tuned. That and the frame rate.Comment

Originally posted by ExtremeGamerI did, after I posted the beer one. It's funny, if you drink more than one beer, the effects get even worse. Oh yeah, these aren't cans, they are 40's! LOL
I am now going to buy this game when it comes out. :y4:Blind to this impending fate

Here is a screen I took from the game, it's got some hilarious billboards, tractor trailers, stores, etc. Here is a tractor trailer I found in a shipping yard.
