I'm sorry guys, I was drinking and smoking before the fight. That closing statement was ironic...LOL. anyways, you guys fall trap to the same tired Major Nelson Line, the memory question. And, this has been answered over and over again, the PS3 as well as the 360 has 512, its just that the PS3 memory is split 256 and 256 and can be used all at once, if the programmer is smart enough to do so.
Anyways go Mayweather.Comment

If we do the logical math then the article's theory holds up.
More processing power with limited memory are real world equals when compared to slightly less processing power with a good amount of gpu memory.
Additionally, I don't believe the tech specs state that the PS3 can use 256 and 256 concurrently as you say. Otherwise, why split them up. But ultimately I think this point is moot.Comment

Re: Denis Dyack: 360, PS3 Are Equals
Usually a developer working on a 360 project will say something positive about the 360 and vice versa for PS3. It's quite sad if you ask me, especially since they don't know what they are talking about only working with one of the consoles.Comment

Re: Denis Dyack: 360, PS3 Are Equals
The way I look at it: If people are arguing over the little stuff like this that tells me there is not enough big difference in the 2 systems to justify 200.00 more for one. When a good price drops I might consider getting a ps3 but not before.Joshua:

for a lot of people... the Blue Ray Player & most of the media features in the PS3 more than justifies the $200 when compared to a stand alone Blue Ray player... but i think that argument is dumb since we buy consoles to game on.. well me at least.

Re: Denis Dyack: 360, PS3 Are Equals
CONCLUSION
When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.
However, hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle. Xbox 360 is a fusion of hardware, software and services. Without the software and services to power it, even the most powerful hardware becomes inconsequential. Xbox 360 games—by leveraging cutting-edge hardware, software, and services—will outperform the PlayStation 3.Comment

Re: Denis Dyack: 360, PS3 Are Equals
The PS3 vs 360 discussions make me laugh. Both systems are very powerful and all that power will never be used because the developers never seem to get the most out of a system (insert Xbox here). So at the end of the day, games made for both systems will play and look the same.
You can get into all the technical speak and those with both systems will not see a difference.Comment

Great post BigJoe, that pretty much what's already known minus those who proclaim the PS3 as the end all. My conclusion is that multi-platform games will look almost identical and first party games will look equally as good.
Bill Gates quote is the best I've heard and this is coming from the biggest Xbox360 fanboy out there. He compared both the 360 and PS3 to a Ferrari and Lambo. He said both systems will be wicked fast. Some games will look slightly better on the 360 and some will look slightly better on the PS3 but there won't be major difference as to how games look on each machine.Comment

Anyways go Mayweather.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
