Re: The Official Wii & PS3 Launch Discussion
Who of you are courageous enough to brave the weather, darkness, and bloodthirsty gamers and parents in order to secure a Nintendo Wii or PS3 on launch day?
For those of you who are camping out for a next-gen system this weekend, what is your game plan and how many times have you done this before?
If I hadn't gotten a preorder on my PS3 I would have just waited a few months. No way in hell I'm camping outside a store...
That said, I can't wait until fridayComment

No camping for me!
I have both systems paid for and i'm pumped!
I'm #11 out of 15 for the PS3 so i'm not too sure if i'll get it. The manager swears to me they'll cover all preorders os i'm hoping he is correct.
#5 out of 11 for the Wii and know i'm getting that for sure!
GOOD TIMES!!
With GOW, COD3, SC/DA, NFS:Carbon for the 360 and a total of 10 games between the PS3 and Wii, i'll be gaming my butt off for a loooong time"Because he's the hero Gotham deserves...but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him...because he can take it...because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...the Dark Knight."Comment

Re: The Official Wii & PS3 Launch Discussion
the sam's here in my area (stl) says that the systems will not be available until 9 am when everyone will be allowed to purchase one at the same time. they had the 360 on launch day but they let those with the upgraded membership cone in at 7 am and purchase one, but i guess there is more of a demand for the ps3. i'm not getting one at launch because i was disappointed in the launch titles on the 360 and don't want to wait for a year or more for good games on a system that costs 500-600. if i want $500 to sit around doing nothing for me, i'll leave it in the bank earning interest.Comment

Re: The Official Wii & PS3 Launch Discussion
I was thinking of hitting up sams before work, but I don't know how they'll operate the whole process. If they wait until 9, I'll be out, but if they let you in at 7, I might have a chance.PS4: aBayBates

Re: The Official Wii & PS3 Launch Discussion
I was firmly on board picking up a Wii until I saw the release schedule for November for 360. I'm now waiting till at least March/April to pick up a Wii. I've already bought Fear, Gears, COD3, and am buying College Hoops, Rainbow Six, WWE, and possibly Pinata for my wife within the next two weeks and that Civil War game as well. There was just no way to pay 250 plus for another console and get all the good games coming out for 360 in November.Comment

Re: The Official Wii & PS3 Launch Discussion
It's not really an issue of the money (although that plays a role). It's more of the fact that;
1) I have NO TIME to play any video games. My bro and I split our 360 and we haven't touched it in a long time. I don't want to waste more money on something that I'm hardly going to be able to use.
2) I really want to see what people are saying about the controller and exactly how its going to work with everything. Impressions are key with this system. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. Maybe I can buy it from Costco and take it back worse comes to worse. Any word on if Costco will be carrying them?
We'll see what happens. I've gotten the past two Nintendo offerings on launch (N64 and Gamecube) and I had so much fun with them, I just want to continue the tradition.Comment
