Cman did you buy a system last night? If so how do you like it?

I bought one this morning. So far I have played about 1 hr of Wii Sports and 30 minutes of Zelda. I am very impressed so far with the system and what the games like Wii Sports has to offer. I'll be posting in the impressions thread.

Am I the only one to think Nintendo is making out huge on Sony shorting the market? I thought it would be Microsoft, and it still very well may be, but I dont think Nintendo would have gotten this much attention if not for the shortage of PS3's.

I think the Wii has sold itself. A lot of people just seem really excited about it, I don't think it has anything to do with the PS3/Xbox. From what I know, its completely sold out in my area and every store was sold out before they opened (gave out tickets to people waiting in line before they opened). The PS3 may get more press during the holiday season because of the price it will go for on ebay, but the Wii is going to be the #1 item for a lot of people.

Just to let everyone know, I work at a Costco in Avon, Mass. We got 44 WII'S in this morning and one person did camp out overnight and many others waited outside before we opened at 10. I was told the last one sold at about 130 pm. I believe the bundle was the system 2 games and a extra controller for like 350.

I went to one of the Targets down the road, they had 42 I think and they were all gone by about 11am but I did see some of those classic controllers people were talking about.

I'm dissappointed that it's only 480p and just hope they release some VGA cables but like I think candyman said, Nintendo has ALWAYS been about gameplay and that's prob why the next system I get, will be a Wii.

Once you play the games, 720p won't matter. Wii have been playing Wii Sports for most of the day it's that addicting.

So I went to like, 15 different stores today. Got into a car accident in the Fry's parking lot and a nice verbal fight with the *******s in the car (legally, it's going to look like my fault, too bad). Busted tailight, huge dents on my bumper, and scratches as well. I was backing out of the parking space, on my cell phone but I looked behind me and no one was there, so I'm pulling out and this guy apparently ends up coming and gives me no room to get the hell out of my space. Guy was a complete jerkoff, and threatened to beat me up. I wish he threw a punch, I would have sued the living hell out of him.

Anyways, to make a long story short, a 6 hour search ends up with no Wii.

I'm not sure when/if Best Buy or CC will put up the Nintendo brand component cables (they have third party cables listed now), but I preordered component cables from EB Games an hour or two ago. Release date is (as of now) December 15th.

so when is the next batch coming out for the Wii? Think they'll have more sent out for Black Friday? I think I'm gonna have to pick one up.

Can somebody give me the link of the website for the Wii that showed a long list of online stores and whether or not they had any systems in shock?

Honestly, I forgot to even pay attention to the visuals, which sounds kind of ludicrous. I was more interested in seeing how the controller worked. It wasn't until after my friend and I stopped playing to watch some football that we saw a PS3 add for Madden and he asked, "So how does that one look compared to the Wii version?" My response was, "I don't know, it must look better, but I didn't really pay attention," which was his response as well. I'm playing on a 50" Plasma as well so everything looks good to me.

So I call this specialty store in LA called "Aahh's" and I ask if they have any Nintendo Wii's. The lady says "Yeah, we have two left". I was like "Really? Awesome, is there a way you could hold one for 30 minutes so I can come get it?" She says yeah and gets my name and number. Then she tells me "Just to let you know, the price isnt the normal price, it's a little higher". So I'm like "Okay, how much is it?" She goes, "600 dollars, including a game". I was like "What?! Alright, forget it then". I didn't even bother asking how or why one game makes it $600 bucks.

I got so pissed.
