Re: PS3 Impressions
Here are a few initial impressions...
We managed to end up with a ps3 , CoD 3 and Ridge Racer
Graphics - So far I am not impressed with the graphics. Im not a xbox or sony fanboy, but I expected better. I didnt expect the ps3 to floor the 360 in graphics, but I didnt expect them to get worse. My HDTV only does 480p and 1080i, so that might be the problem. But when running CoD3 on both systems, the 360 looks better.
Sound - Supposedly the ps3 is supposed to have 7.1 sound, however I only have a 5.1 system, so cant comment on any improvement here. There may be some improvement though, I just dont have the equiptment to test it.
Framerate - Fugging horrid. I dont understand what the problem is, but CoD3 just isnt smooth. There are many instances where there is a lag / slowdown issue and it really detracts from the game.
Controls - I like the ps3 controller, but the tilt function, while unique, doesnt add much to the game.
Ridge Racer 7 (6)
Graphics - Subpar. I cant believe that details like tire marks and scenery from the 360 version are missing in the ps3 version. No excuse whatsoever.
Once again we werent expecting much, but this game shares the same tracks ( so far anyways ) as RR6, and has less track, car, and background detail.
Sound - Exact same as 360
Framerate - Havent noticed any problems here yet. Seems like the same to me.
Overall the ps3 is a massive disappointment to a few of us that have them.
One of our friends has Resistance and says hes having a blast with it so far and will bring it over tonight.
This is our first bluray dvd experience and I also have to say we are underwhelmed. I have never seen Talledega Nights before, so cant compare it to its DVD version...but I certainly dont see any noticable difference in the Blu Ray and regular DVD. There may be a difference, but I cant personally tell it.
That about sums up our experience, Im hoping others have had better ones and would like to hear about it.Comment

Re: PS3 Impressions
I purchased a one year warranty with Ebgames. If something is wrong with bring it get new one. I brought my 360 in October and first day it ran hot and power adapter stayed red. I took it back and got a new system.Comment

Re: PS3 Impressions
I read the PS3 controllers feel lighter and flimsy since the dual shock (vibration function) has been taken out. As a person that went thru PS2 controllers like candy can you comment on this?"Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: PS3 Impressions
I don't think it works that way, if Sony gives you a year and you buy the ebgames warranty, there both for the same year, it's not like the EBgames warranty kicks in after sony"s warranty runs out, doesn't work that way, it the buyers choice.N.Y Mets

Re: PS3 Impressions
You are correct, if Sony is offering a 1 year warranty, then buying a 1 year warranty at Best Buy or EB would be a complete waste of money.Comment
