Hopefully that loser enjoys getting his account banned. Microsoft takes a matter like this very seriously (well according to Major Nelson). There's no reason to send a picture of yourself flipping the other player off and sending a threat message like that.

This is just another example of why you should only play with people on your friends list.

Oh yeah Microsoft should put in a new rule where you have to be at least 25 years old to play on Live

It seems to me they both take gaming way too seriously. If a kid waved a stun gun at me in person, then it would be a threat. To take a picture and flip someone over in cyberspace seems like a non-factor to me.

I would also hope Microsoft doesn't start deleting accounts on the basis that someone insulted another player, or took a picture of themselves flicking them off. Block the user and move on. No need for anyone to be banned.

Online insults are worthless and a joke. The online environment is driven by people posing, making empty threats, and acting without limitations within the cyber realm. If people don't realize, or can't handle, that, then they should be the ones leaving, because it's more dangerous to take such silly insults personally than it is to issue them.

The difference in the legal system between cyberspace and real-life really isn't much different. So if someone sends a threatening picture of you in the mail, that should be reported yet through the internet it shouldn't? That doesn't make sense.

If you don't report someone for something like this he will keep doing it and ruining the experience of paying customers. If he reported it to the cops that would be overkill, but just reporting it to XBL so this joker will hopefully get banned, he did the right thing.

If someone is mailing you something, they know your address, and where you live. The threat is a serious issue.

If someone sends you a cyber threat, they know nothing about you. The threat is a non-factor.

Block the guy and move on. Reporting him is fine, but seems silly to me.

I think the fact that the Xbox user that is complaining is taking the threat so seriously is hilarious. The "threat" is ridiculously mild by online standards, and while he's fully justified in sending a letter to Micrsoft, it seems silly to me.

To each their own though. I generally am in favor of people taking care of their own business online, primarily because it's so much fun. In this case, I've run numerous potential responses to the "harasser" through my head, and any one of them would have been a blast to create and send back.

Yeah I agree if I was playing someone online and they threatened me and sent a picture of them holding a stun gun it wouldn't really bother me, like you said they don't know where I live or who I am so not that big of a deal to me.

I probably would've laughed about them taking it so seriously then deleted it, not a big deal in my opinion but I can understand how some people would do more about it.

I would of done the same exact thing, and contacted MS. XBL is a service we pay for, and we should be able to enjoy it.

Another thing, the guy is "trying" to act as if he is a MS employee, that shouldn't go over well when MS recieves this guys complaint.

Reporting the douchebag was the right thing to do, without a doubt.

This happens all the time during online games..Nothing new.

Back in Madden 2004 online with Ps2 people used to send me crazy messages after I whipped they ***. Just move on.

Online gaming is great man, especially when you get a good group of guys on your friends list. Most of my friends list consists of OS members, and other people I know offline.

Just stay away from Quick match games, and you'll have a good experience.

I have kept it the same way, no reason to play against strangers. I had a bad experience with NBA2K6 last year with some dude on LIVE swearing at me, stupid.

I do play Madden every now and then, and do a quick match. But I just leave the headset off, I don't care to listen at them "wine", while they cheese.

I get so tired of people just acting childish. I either play against fellow OSers or friends, just not worth getting aggravated.
