Length of play session has nothing to do with them breaking down. I played my 360 less than 2 hrs a day most days, with weeks off at a time, and mine crashed and burned as well.
There is nothing that can be attributed to why they are breaking down. MS probably knows why they are busting, but wont say anything...as the consumers are at zero fault here.
Having said that, what makes me so mad is that not only have I had my 3rd box break, they are all from different manufacturing dates.
If they fixed the problem with the launch boxes, I wouldnt be mad as mistakes happen. However having a 11/05 box break....me buying another 3/06 box, receiving a 4/06 box back I believe , then having both my 3/06 box and 4/06 box brick on me back to back in less than 1 week is more than disturbing.
That is 3 seperate manufacturing dates now that I have know of that have not had the issues fixed. At this point a warranty extension is out of the question. Its fraud.
MS needs to isolate the problem, manufacture ones that this problem has been fixed, and offer to replace each and every 360 that bricks for a new one. A warranty at this point in time just guarentees you that your system will go down, its just a matter of time. Outside of that warranty, you are gonna be up the creek.
If you are one of those that havent had an issue, Im very happy for ya. Just realize that at any moment in time, you too will be here on this forum with us with a broken 360.
Its not user or consumer error that is causing this problem, its a manufacturing one. My son received a 360 for Christmas this year, its now 01-01-08, and its already bricked on him as well. The 360 stays at his grandparents house that is kept immaculant and he played it for a grand total of 3 days over the weekend before he came home, and it just sat there ever since. Upon returning to his grandparents on Sat night to play to enjoy his new fav christmas toy, he finds that it doesnt work.
Unacceptable, point blank and simple.
