Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
Anyways I'm loving it so far. Really fun/cool game. Right now I'm going through the 6,231 create level tutorials... lol...
Tons of things you can do in create mode and between playing and creating I'll end up splitting it 70% Create and 30% play probably
So far it is certainly a reason to turn on PS3 just like I was hoping for!Joshua:

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
Same here. PS3 has been nothing but a BR player so far. I mean I did play a couple other exclusives but they are few and far between..For me anyways.

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
The create mode is awesome... Just playing around: I lined up some bottles and had a ramp up off the ground with a golf ball on top. Then made a revolving "Bat"opposite the bottles. I played the level and pushed the golf ball off ramp and it rolled into the revolving bat (Can set the speed of the bat) which then in turn smacked the ball across the screen , knocking over the bottles...
Doesn't take much to get me giddy, so I got giddy...Joshua:

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
I have no issues at all with the controls so far man. I haven't had any issues what so ever. I guess if you never grew up playing Mario etc.. you might have issues but for me it's a non issue. Basic buttons are X to jump, R1 to grab onto objects. I think the most problems people are having is with the depth of where you are standing. Once you figure that out it's golden. (Basically you can be one "level" toward the wall or towards the screen. Which gives the levels a sense of depth.)
I've played about 15 levels or so and the game is very enjoyable. One thing I found myself doing was rushing through the levels as if there was a time limit. The only time you have a limit is during racing parts. Other than that you can take your time and try to find all the items. Even when I think there's no way I missed anything the totals show 55% items found....lol!
So you end up playing through levels multiple times to figure out different paths. Also it looks as if each level has an area you cannot reach without someone playing with you, which is pretty cool.
Overall it's a fun, "different" type of platformer. The editor is just nuts. Not even remotely ready to tackle creating anything.....Last edited by Skyboxer; 10-28-2008, 05:20 AM.Joshua:

1UP Review - A+
The most important lesson I learned in high school came from my philosophy teacher, citing Leo Tolstoy: Art is infectiousness. Never before in gaming have I seen a better example of such infectious joy, infectious creativity, and (even at this early stage) an infectiously excited community. Yes, the level editor has its quirks, and the movement planes can be finicky -- but I don't care about perfection when I'm having this much fun. And the longer it's out, the better it'll become. I, for one, can hardly wait.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
I like how when the reviewer would initialize the name of the game, he would say "LPB." That's right... Little Pig Blanet. Or to be humorous, Little Pig Blanket.Last edited by Blzer; 10-28-2008, 01:02 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
messed with it for about an hour and it seems great. HAve not messed with the creator at all. In fact spent about 30 minutes just messing with sackboy designs and movements as my 2 year old was getting a kick out of it. No issue with the controls at all as skyboxer has already statedActually...believe it or not from my physique... I'm a light eater - Clay T. ShaverComment

Re: Little Big Planet (PS3)
Just got it today. There's supposedly a 300-page strategy guide in the works... I'm going to need to buy that if I want to finish 100%.
The controls are a little screwy because you can't grab hold of everything. You can always grab sponges, and you can grab carpets and stuff, but there are some objects in story mode that are intentionally made to be un-grabbable. The plane shifting is a little annoying, but I bet it's 50% my fault for moving up and down on the left stick. I'm thinking 3-dimensionally like NBA 2K8 or something, whereas I should think laterally like a platformer.
Other than that, I played it for about three hours... I had some weird stoppages, so I don't know if my disc is good or what. I tried a couple of user-created levels, but I know that the story mode will keep me occupied for a long time. I may eventually try the creator once I unlock some objects. Same for the character customization.Comment
