Re: Fable 2
I have a question about The Spire
SpoilerWhen I go to the island for The Spire to rescue Garth, is that it? The game tells me to finish up any quests I might have, etc - but it seems aweful quick to be at the end of the game already. I mean, the world feels extremely small, and I felt like I haven't even done anything yet. Plus, isn't there supposed to be a 3rd hero I have to get?
Or is there maybe a quest that leads you there the first time to save Garth, and then you go back to the main land after that before you go back a second time?
SpoilerThings don't remain the same after the Spire. Time passes, that's all I'll say (don't want to ruin anything). There's still a lot of game left though.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Fable 2
More Details
History of Knothole Island
Hundreds of years ago, the tribe from Knothole Glade discovered the existence of an island far off the mainland said to offer its inhabitants full control over their weather. Tired of constant Balverine attacks and damp, dreary weather, the tribe elders decided they would find this mythic island and settle there. The ancient civilisation who originally lived on the island created the magical artifacts that control the weather, and hid them in dangerous caves so that their warriors would be tested every year.
The Chieftain
He’s middle-aged and a typical, slimy politician. He takes credit for everything the Hero does when things go right, and is quick to blame anyone else when they go wrong. Puffed up, avaricious, self-important, uses big words.
Jessica
Owner of the Box of Secrets shop, where explorers can trade for extraordinary items she has collected over the years. She’s independent and one of the few people who stands up to the Chieftain.
Gordon
A shy inventor who is sent to mainland Albion in his submarine to find a Hero to save the island from the freezing weather. He spends most of his time creating incredible items such as the Flying Lute Axe, and having spent all his life on a small island, is amazed by the bridges and cranes he sees in Bowerstone.

Re: Fable 2
I'm probably going to bite on it, but I really hope the DLC is pretty decent in length.Comment

LmaoOriginally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Fable 2
So far this is my game of the year - out of some pretty good games this year. It's the only game that's held my attention and still has me playing.
Fallout 3 - got bored, stopped playing.
Farcry 2 - got bored, stopped playing
GTA IV - got bored, stopped playing.
So far, I think out of the games I've played, this and Dead Space are only ones that are lasting me until the end (Dead Space I almost got bored with, but I ended up finishing).
It just has so many different things to do, and even though the combat is so simple, it's still really, really fun.
SpoilerI'm past the part now where you rescue Garth. Basically, I'm just running around doing all the quests that come up, and I'm starting to make a lot of money now from the properties I bought, so I let it add up a bit, and then I buy a couple more stores.
I like that there are lots of different types of quests, I can go rescue slaves, or I can just go pose for a sculpture, or I can go find an artifact, or I can just wander around looking for caves, keys, gargoyles, demon doors, etc.
They've really gone the extra bit to adding detail to the world - like the way the sun actually moves around in the temple of light; that was cool, waiting for it to hit the right spot, and watching the beam actually move around as time passed.
My only real complaints are that the world feels way too small and linear. An open world without loading between every zone (in which the hours pass by, too) would have really made it a lot better. But, I guess it's the price you pay for the detail and amount of life in each zone... My other is that it seems way too easy to make money. I was pretty much able to buy the best gear off the bat. I immediately bought the noble gentleman's outfit, and everyone instantly loved me and was giving me gifts.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 11-27-2008, 11:58 AM.Comment
