Re: Fable 2
SpoilerWhich choice is that? I remember coming back after ten years on the spire and seeing the archaeological dig site unearthed more, Temple of Light built up, and Westcliff completely different thanks to my donation to Barnum. But yeah, I was just shocked that small decision made that big of an impact in the game.SpoilerWestcliff was the one I mentioned due to the donation...just all the little things are awesome
Mgoblue, we're on the same page. The issues hurt, because you know they're getting in the way of a great game, but once you're past them it is a great game. It's just mind boggling to see such great design and such terrible design all in one package.
For Spells, I'm still starting out but I decided on a range only character, so I'm using Time Control, Force Push and my ranged attacks, usually in that order. If they get close I just roll out of the way, slow them down and go back to the Slow>Force>Crossbow/Firearm attacks.
Great game though. Addictive, fun, beautiful, great voice acting, great art etc. Just a flat out F- in interface, lol.
I think it's just a difference of opinion between ease of use and being too indepth for some.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Fable 2
I'm becoming more familiar with the map now that its my second play through. I agree, though, that its tempting to just do the select quest, set trail, and travel option.

Re: Fable 2
Anyway, some improvements I would like to see for Fable III
- Bring back the map on the HUD. I don't see why they took it away. I understand and like the glowing trail, but I wish you could set it to anything, even things that aren't quests or jobs - or at the very least set one marker per region so I can go back and find silver chests/Demon Doors laster. The map in the pause screen is pretty useless other than selecting with region to travel to. No zoom and can't really orient yourself very well.
- Complete character customization. I feel like they have 75% of with Fable II with all the hairstyles, clothings and the dyes offer a wide array of customization for the character. More hairstyles and more clothing options is obvious, but I would like to see some simple "physical" character design such as face design, skin color, eye color, etc.
- Reduce loading times. I would like to see regions actually connected like they were in Fable 1 instead of having each region being separated and then being taking out of the game via loading screens. It makes the world feel small, even though the regions themselves are pretty big.
- Customization/Mapping of expressions. Instead of prompting the expression wheel every time you want to talk to somebody, I would like to map certain expressions to the d-pad ala Fable 1. I think once you target a citizen to talk to with LT, there should be expressions mapped to the d-pad, press RT and then another set pops up. All the others can then be accessed with the expression wheel. I think the game is pretty intuitive (for the most part) in regards to certain situations, but sometimes they cycle through the expressions too fast and I end up doing something I didn't want to select.
- Travel. I guess this goes into the map aspect a little, but I would like different ways to travel other than by foot or by magic. Throw in some cutscenes for the coach and ships and maybe include horses, mules, donkeys, cows, etc to ride around on the next time around.
- More time/quests during childhood. Perhaps I'm alone in this area, but I would like more time to just play around as a kid doing odd jobs, small quests, etc to get a feel for the world and then that way 1) You can see how much the world changes and 2) You're already a little bit familiar with some parts of the world and 3) Childhood felt really rushed this time through. I liked the childhood in Fable 1, but in Fable 2 being bed-ridden for 10 years made things feel rushed through.
Of course, these really aren't that big of a deal, but I feel like they're things that could make the game even better. Some things I hope they keep are:
- The dog. Honestly, this is best new "feature" of the game. I like the heads up on enemies and looking for treasure is actually fun with a companion.
- Art style. I really love the art direction of this series. Its a great balance of historic, fantasy, and reality mixed together.
- Simplistic fighting. I would like to see a combo structure fit in the next title, but I like the simplicity of it and as you progress it gets a little bit more complex to perform some of the styles. Its simple, but its not button mashing.

Re: Fable 2
Finally beat the game!
Spoiler for those who have beaten the game:
SpoilerI picked sacrifice...sucks to lose the dog though. I also lost my undead bride Lady Grey because all my families were killed by Lucien.
I think I've done all the other quests I can now (purchased Castle Fairfax and did the quests there). All I have left are sculpture, Crucible perfection, shooting range, and Archaeologist (which I probably can't do without a dog).
Do more quests come up somehow later? Or did I just do them all because I completed them before finishing the main quest?
Oh, did anyone change gender after doing Farifax? Is that an achievement or something? I left mine male cause my evil one is female
Created a evil person and having a blast. I saved some slaves, gave them to a guy offering money for them, killed the guy to get my key back, freed the slaves, then ran them down and killed them. Felt oh so good!
Oh, for the people killing in the cities, do you just end up paying the fine? I guess I'll have to tone down my city violence until I get more cash...I'm too weak and doesn't seem like I can kill the guards, if that even helps.Last edited by mgoblue; 11-03-2008, 12:44 AM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Fable 2
I'll likely be praising this game before the weekend is out, but right now I want to break the disc, throw my controller at the wall, heave my 360 out of the window, buy a plane ticket to Lionhead and beat Peter Molyneaux to death with a bag filled with the broken pieces of my Fable II experience. In other news, Peter Molyneaux, creater of the Fable 2 game, was found beatin to death. The only clues the police have at this time is the pieces of the Fable 2 game embeded into his skin.

Just have that quest selected and travel to the right region and then the trail will appear and lead you to the spot where you can dig up the artifact.Comment

SpoilerThanks! I forgot about all the demon doors too, so I've got more to do...I may just run through as evil though, just for fun.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Fable 2
Man wtf is wrong with this game. First, the stupid "you are in redecorating mode, upgrade your furniture" crap has been at the top of my screen since 2 days ago, even though I wasn't in redecorating mode. Then, the furniture lady won't even sell me anything. Then, I'm sitting there in the tattered spire and I can't move or do anything, all I can do is look at the boat from the window.Comment
